If you’re planning a Disney World trip in 2025, brace yourself as things are about to get interesting.

Disney is making some major updates to its hotel lineup next year, and whether you’re a die-hard fan of Fort Wilderness or have your sights set on the Polynesian, you’ll want to know what’s in store. From brand-new cabins to room reimaginings, we’re rounding up the most notable changes coming to Disney World’s hotels in 2025 so you can plan your stay wisely. Let’s dive into the details and see what’s happening where.
Fort Wilderness Campground
Say goodbye to the old cabins at Fort Wilderness! Disney has been rolling out over 350 brand-new cabins as part of a massive transformation, turning the resort’s cabins into a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) property.

These pre-fabricated cabins are being installed loop by loop, with the project expected to wrap up by April 2025. So if you’ve been dreaming of a stay in one of these upgraded cabins, mark your calendar.
Disney Lakeshore Lodge
Remember Reflections, the hotel project that was paused for what felt like forever? It’s back, now rebranded as Disney Lakeshore Lodge, and construction is in full swing.

Located on the former River Country water park site near Wilderness Lodge, this deluxe resort will add a modern twist to the Disney hotel lineup.

No opening date has been announced yet, but the progress is hard to miss if you’re near Fort Wilderness or Boulder Ridge.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
The shiny new Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows is officially open, adding more accommodations between the resort’s longhouses and the Grand Floridian.

But the updates don’t stop there. Refurbishments are ongoing throughout the Polynesian, with work expected to continue through 2026.

If you’re staying here in 2025, prepare for possible construction noise and impacted views.
Pop Century
Pop Century is getting some love in the form of a year-long room refurbishment project.

Starting in late March 2025 and continuing through mid-February 2026, guest rooms will receive updates, though the resort’s amenities will remain available. If you’re booking a stay here, you may notice some construction during the day, but it shouldn’t disrupt your overall experience too much.
Port Orleans Resorts
Both sides of Port Orleans are in for a glow-up.

French Quarter will complete its guest room refurbishments by Spring 2025, while Riverside’s Magnolia Bend rooms (including the Royal Rooms) are getting reimagined from April 2025 through January 2026.

Riverside may see even more updates after that, as Disney typically refurbishes both sections of the resort back-to-back.
Wilderness Lodge
Wilderness Lodge is juggling two major projects: room refurbishments in the Copper Creek Villas (wrapping up by September 2025) and extensive exterior work, which could last until 2027.

While room renovations might not be noticeable depending on where you stay, the exterior work could have a bigger impact, especially on views. On the bright side, with careful room requests, you might avoid most of the disruptions.
Yacht Club
Starting in January 2025, the Yacht Club will begin refurbishing select guest rooms.

The project is expected to wrap up by May 2025, making it a relatively quick refresh for a resort of its size. While most amenities will remain available during this time, guests may notice construction activity during the day.
Bay Lake Tower
Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is undergoing room refurbishments now through September 2025.

That means during that time, you should expect noise, detours, and a less-than-relaxing atmosphere.
What This Means for Your Stay
If you’re planning a trip to Disney World in 2025, these hotel projects are worth considering when choosing where to stay. While construction may impact some resorts, it also brings exciting upgrades that could make your trip even more magical. Be sure to check Disney’s official site for the latest updates on refurbishment timelines and potential impacts to your favorite resorts.
