Could This Tomorrowland Attraction Permanently CLOSE in Magic Kingdom Soon?

Things are changing over in Disney World, and people have a ton of mixed feelings about it.

Many fans were excited to hear that a Monsters, Inc.-themed land was on the way to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, then were less enthused when it was announced it would replace Muppets Courtyard. The Muppets will move over to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster where Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem (likely along with other Muppet friends) will take over the attraction. While all that is going on, we’ve just realized something else — could this Magic Kingdom attraction permanently close due to these changes?

Over in Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland you’ll find a fun show called Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor, which is an interactive show with live actors (even though you don’t see them!). When you step into the Laugh Floor, you’re told by your Roz that you must work with your two hosts (those are the live actors, they’re truly there interacting with you) to fill up the Laugh Canister to get enough power to open the doors back up again.

Don’t worry, it’s not nearly as slightly scary as it sounds — it’s a ton of fun and you can leave the theater early if you need to. Fans of the Monsters, Inc. world will love getting to step inside the Laugh Factory, and if you’re lucky, you may even become part of the show!

However, with an entirely new Monsters, Inc. area opening in Hollywood Studios AND the fact that the former home of Muppet*Vision 3D will be open for a new show, is it possible that this show may move into that building? It’s certainly possible!

Muppet*Vision 3D

It’s just been announced that the last day to see Muppet*Vision 3D will be June 7th, which also happens to be the last day to eat at PizzeRizzo, and the last day the land will be open as a whole. At this time, Disney hasn’t announced an idea for a different show to go into the theater building, but we can see from the concept art that the plan is to keep it entirely in tact.

Now, it’s entirely possible that Disney will decide to put a completely different show in this area and keep the Laugh Floor in Magic Kingdom, but it will be very interesting having two heavily themed areas of the same IP in different parks. However, it’s certainly not the first time Disney has done it, and very likely won’t be the last. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the latest Disney World news, so stay tuned to AllEars!

  1. Why does everything have to be all rolled into a themed area? Why can’t there be rides with different themes or related to different movies spread out across the three parks? And why can’t they leave well enough alone. The Laugh Floor is GREAT. Entertaining, funny, audience involvement, and it leaves you wanting more. And gives you another opportunity to take a break and get out of the heat. And the best part is watching little kids seeing this for the first time. Very similar to Turtle Talk with Crush at the Living Seas in Epcot or It’s Tough To Be A Bug in AK ( now also closed). The absolutely stunned look on kids faces seeing these experiences for the first time is woth the price of admission. So if I was advising Disney (not that Disney listens to ne) , I would suggest they stop trying to turn WDW into one big thrill ride and try and meet the needs of all their guests.
