Traveling to Disney World in 2025? Prepare yourselves — a lot of changes are happening this year, and many of them include the temporary closures of multiple attractions.

The good news (if you can call it that?) is that these closures are spread out across the parks, so they’re not all concentrated in one area. However, construction walls are going to be VERY prevalent this upcoming year in all four parks, so keep that in mind as you plan your trip and go throughout your days. If you’re looking for what attractions will be closed on your upcoming vacation, you’ve come to the right place!
Magic Kingdom
There are THREE attractions closing for multiple months in Magic Kingdom, and all of them happen to land at the beginning of the year. The largest of them all is Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, which will be closing for at LEAST a year starting on January 6th.

Additionally, Astro Orbiter will close on January 13th for at least a few months, but we don’t have an exact reopening date just yet.

Hall of Presidents will also close on January 20th, which is typical — this happens each time a different person becomes President of the United States to update the attraction. We also don’t have a reopening date for this attraction, but we’ll let you know as soon as we have one!
EPCOT
Test Track has also been closed since Summer 2024 for its major retheme, and it will remain closed through Summer 2025. We don’t have an exact reopening date at this time, but we’ll let you know the moment we do!

Gran Fiesta Tour will also be closed from January 6th through March 15th for refurbishment.

We aren’t sure if we’ll see any retheming happen during this closure, but we’re waiting to see if Disney will announce one when the ride closes in a few days.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Kali River Rapids will be closed for its annual refurbishment from January 6th through March 2025. During the winter months this attraction (as well as some other water rides throughout Orlando) closes for refurbishment to keep it in tip top shape.

It’s Tough to Be A Bug will also close in Winter 2025 (no date announced just yet) to make way for the new Zootopia show, Zootopia: Better Zoogether! We aren’t sure how long this show will be closed, but we do know it’ll close before the end of the year, so get your last watches in before its gone!
