Experts Reveal the 5 Biggest “Junk Fees” To Watch Out for in Disney World in 2025

Have you ever gone to book a hotel or buy tickets and see one price and then, you go to check out and see additional fees?

Well, that will soon be a thing of the past — at least in the U.S. According to the Associated Press, The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) recently announced that it would soon require event promoters, hotels, vacation rental platforms, and more to disclose hidden “junk” fees upfront. That means when you buy tickets or reserve hotel rooms, the full REAL price will be revealed as soon as you look it up. But there are other hidden fees to look out for at Disney World so let’s talk about those.

Ride Share

Minnie Vans are a rideshare offering that’s powered by the Lyft app. Disney Cast Members drive the  Disney-owned and Disney-operated Minnie Vans, providing Disney-level service (and often some great stories and tips!). However, it comes at a heavy price — $30 to $70 per ride. This is compared to a $10-$20 ride using Lyft or other ride-share apps. They do also come with 2 car seats, which not every car in ride-share apps offer.

If you are using a ride share on Disney property, be sure to check both Uber and Lyft as they could have varying prices and you’ll want to grab the cheaper one. Also, be aware of surge pricing! This could come at peak times like when the park is opening or after fireworks.

Food Delivery Services

Have you ever been in your Disney hotel room after a long park day and you are so hungry, but the food options at the resort have closed? You might look to DoorDash, GrubHub, or another food delivery service to bring you food. But before you hit check out, double-check those prices!

Port Orleans French Quarter

Often on those apps not only are the food items upcharged more than at the restaurant, but there are also fees for delivery and service charges. If you have your vehicle, there is a McDonald’s on Disney property! It might be worth it to drive there instead of having it delivered.

Merchandise in Parks vs. Online

If you find a souvenir at the parks while on your Disney trip, you might want to double-check online to see if you can get it cheaper!

Sometimes you can find park merchandise on Disneystore.com and they might even have a sale or free shipping going on! This way you also don’t have to worry about stuffing it in your suitcase to go back home.

Essentials on Property

If you are staying at a Disney hotel, you’ll find some essentials that you might have forgotten to bring with you including medication, sunscreen, and baby products.

Essentials you’ll find at hotels

However, these are more expensive than what you will find on Amazon or even a retail store. We suggest trying to bring those items with you, but if you do need something, be sure to check Amazon to see if they could deliver it to your hotel for cheaper.

Package and Grocery Delivery

If you are getting a package delivery or a grocery order delivered, be prepared to pay an extra fee than you might have at home. They will deliver it to Bell Services so head there for pick up, however, if you have alcoholic beverages in your order, be prepared to meet your delivery driver downstairs in the lobby with your ID.

Keep in mind that you can call the hotel and schedule Bell Services to deliver the items to your room, but there is a $6 delivery fee.
