ATTN MOANA FANS! There's Only One Way To See This Secret Moana Song Performed Live

Moana has been back in the news recently for many different reasons.

The largest one, of course, is because Moana 2 was just released in theaters at the end of November and has been doing very well at the box office, Disney’s new Island Tower is getting ready to open with a new Moana’s Voyage splash pad for kiddos, and the Disney Treasure has officially begun setting sail with a wonderful Moana show on board. Did you know there’s a cut song from the first Moana film that you can only see performed in ONE place right now? That’s right, and it’s on board the Disney Treasure!

The Disney Treasure, which we just got to sail on during a media preview, has a beautiful show called “Disney The Tale of Moana” that, in Disney’s words, will “immerse audiences in a transformational adventure across land and sea.”

“Disney The Tale of Moana” brings Moana’s adventurous tale to life, for the first time on stage.

Included in the stage show is a cut song from the film called “Warrior Face.” It’s sung by Maui to Moana as he teaches her how to face her fears before they enter the Realm of the Monsters to face Tamatoa and get Maui’s hook back.

The song was written by Lin Manuel-Miranda. hile there’s a demo version of him singing the song available online to listen to, there was also a version recorded with his Hamilton co-stars, Christopher Jackson (George Washington) and Phillipa Soo (Eliza Schuyler). However, since that video’s release in 2017, it’s since been taken down, and is much harder (nearly impossible) to find online.

Now that “Disney The Tale of Moana” is being performed regularly on board the ship, the song is finally getting the full performance we feel it deserves! We weren’t allowed to take any photos or video of the show while we were on board, but just trust us — it’s 100% worth seeing!
