Disney Cruise Line Announces NEW Haunted Mansion Experience

Halloween season is here, even on Disney Cruise Line.

Of course, if you’re all about celebrating Halloween on a Disney Cruise, you’ll want to visit the Haunted Mansion Parlor on the Disney Treasure. Now, the parlor itself is really cool, but Disney just recently revealed that something NEW is coming to the lounge — and you’ll need a DisneyBand+ to activate it.

So here’s the deal: starting in October, your DisneyBand+ can unlock “a Happy Hunt to find hidden ghosts” throughout the Disney Treasure. Then you return them to Madame Leota “for a swinging wake.” Yep, you’ll be hunting down ghosts using your DisneyBand+, and once you’ve found them, you can send them back to the Haunted Mansion Parlor. You’ll start your Happy Hunt in the Haunted Mansion Parlor by scanning your DisneyBand+ to start.

So it looks like when you’re near a ghost, your DisneyBand+ will start flashing.

When you find a ghost, you’ll scan your DisneyBand+, which will trigger an effect that shows you which ghost you’ve found.

DisneyBand+ is Disney Cruise Line’s version of Disney World and Disneyland’s MagicBand+. It’s wearable technology that lets you do things like unlocking your stateroom door, make purchases charged to your payment card on your stateroom folio, access Disney’s Oceaneer Club, and link your onboard photos to your stateroom when you take pictures with ship photographers. Now, DisneyBand+ will also allow you to take part in this fun scavenger hunt for ghosts.

So if you have a cruise planned on the Disney Treasure soon, you’ll want to keep an eye out for these ghosts and use your DisneyBand+ to scan them.
