Hey y’all! Breedlove here and I’ve got a story for you.

So, let me set the scene. I’m headed to Disney World, specifically EPCOT on a typical Florida day. You know, cloudy with a side of impending doom. By doom, I mean rain. Lots of it. But, I’m feeling good, because guess what? I’m rocking my trusty Crocs and I’m ready for any situation. At least, that’s what I thought. Spoiler alert. I was wrong. Dead wrong.
As I was saying, I was wearing Crocs to EPCOT on a rainy day. Well, little did I know at the time, but it was a straight-up rookie mistake, and I almost paid for it — multiple times over. What started as a fun, chill day at one of my favorite parks quickly turned into a constant battle to stay on my feet.

Crocs + Wet Ground = Disaster Waiting to Happen
I know, I know. Crocs are known for being water-friendly, right? They’re easy to clean, dry quickly, and you can just hose them off if they get dirty. All of that makes them seem like the ideal choice for a rainy day at EPCOT, or at least that’s what I told myself when I slipped them on that morning. But the reality was a very different story.

The moment the rain hit, the ground turned into a slick, shiny danger zone, and my Crocs decided to transform into skates. I’m not even kidding. Every step felt like I was about to go full Disney-on-ice. That’s especially true when I hit certain surfaces. Don’t even get me started on how one of my closest calls was in the bathroom. Apparently, Crocs and wet bathroom floors are mortal enemies.
But wait, there’s more!
Japan Pavilion: The Slip-n-Slide of EPCOT
Let me tell you about the Japan Pavilion. It’s such a stunning area. It’s got beautiful architecture and amazing vibes, but it has this one section of ground that’s a certified hazard zone when it rains. It’s slightly downhill, and when I tell you I almost met my demise there, I mean it.

My Crocs could not handle the slippery surface. I legit had to slow-walk it, like I was on some kind of invisible tightrope. At one point, I actually told a security guard about it because I was that close to going down.

And you know what’s wild? It felt like the entire time was a game of “Will Breedlove fall here?” I somehow managed to keep it together, just barely. But man, it was close. Too close.
Lesson Learned: Crocs Aren’t the EPCOT Rain Shoe You Think They Are
At the end of the day, I still love my Crocs, but I now know there’s a time and a place for them, and EPCOT on a rainy day is not it. If you’re planning to spend a day at the park, take my advice and pack some proper shoes with actual grip. Your future self will thank you, and you’ll avoid the not-so-fun game of “Let’s see if I can stay upright!”

So, consider this my PSA. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT wear Crocs to EPCOT when it rains. Or at least bring a backup pair of shoes. Trust me, you do not want to spend your Disney day battling the elements and your footwear just to avoid a catastrophe!

I wore crocs at Epcot, in the rain, no slipping and sliding, I have all terrain Crocs, that have good tread.
NEW Crocs work well, even in the rain. But once those bottoms start to get worn down – watch out!
Agree! One they start to wear on the bottom, they become very slippery.
