If you’re still trying to get a handle on all the new projects that will be coming to Disney World in the next few years, don’t worry. We’ve got you!

Let’s focus on what’s going to be happening over in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. First up, DinoLand U.S.A. is getting re-themed to a Tropical Americas land by 2027. With the re-theme, the new land will get three new attractions. Interestingly, everyone has been talking non-stop about only two of the new rides, so what’s the deal about the third one?
As we were saying, with the re-theme of DinoLand U.S.A. into a Tropical Americas land — Pueblo Esperanza — the land will be getting three new rides. The first one will be an Indiana Jones-themed attraction that will take over the DINOSAUR building. The second one will be the first-ever Encanto-themed ride-through experience. So, what about the third? Well, TriceraTop Spin will be replaced by a brand-new carousel!

Here’s the story behind this new town and carousel: “The town features classic Spanish-style architecture in the heart of the rainforest and a carousel featuring the resident wood carver’s favorite animals.” Speaking of those animals, while we were at D23, we got to have a close look at one of the animals in the new attraction — Kevin from UP!

We’re so stoked to see Kevin as a part of the ride. If you look closely at the concept art, we can spot a couple of the other Disney animals coming, too.

Keep in mind that concept art is just that — a concept. So, the animal seen here may or may not make the final ride. That being said, going left to right, we can see Scuttle from The Little Mermaid, Timon and Pumba from The Lion King, Kaa from The Jungle Book, Squirt from Finding Nemo, Hei-Hei from Moana, Abu from Aladdin, Bambi from Bambi, and Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh.

The Encanto boat ride will have new dialogue from Jared Bush, the chief creative officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios, and will feature the Familia Madrigal on an awesome adventure!

While we still have much to learn about the new Indiana Jones ride, we do know it’ll feature the same ride mechanics as DINOSAUR and Disneyland’s Indiana Jones Adventure, all while offering a unique story.

Taking place in a Mayan Temple, this new adventure is set to break ground (along with the rest of the land) soon and debut in 2027.

DinoLand U.S.A. had a tiered shutdown in 2025. The final day to experience DINOSAUR, The Dino Institute Shop, Dino-Bites Snacks, Restaurantosaurus, and Restaurantosaurus Lounge (the last remaining land offerings) is February 1st, 2026.
Additionally, Disney is closing Trilo-Bites and Dino-Bite Snacks on October 20th, 2025. All other offerings in this land have already been closed.

We’re so excited to learn more details about the whole land and run and play in it when it opens in 2027. Stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest updates!
Why an Indiana Jones Ride at Disney World Is a Mistake
Are you looking forward to this new carousel and other attractions coming to the new land? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!

Don’t understand why they would make another Indiana Jones attraction. The one in Hollywood Studios has been there for a very long time. There are so many other great movies that are deserving of an attraction.
Well, first, Indiana Jones has a show at Hollywood Studios, not a ride. Bur mainly I expect it’s because the track layout and ride system for “Dinosaur” are the same as the Indy attraction in Disneyland, so it will be much less expensive to just redress the existing attraction than build something new from the ground up.
Yes, but they could redress it as something other than Indiana Jones.
That isn’t Scuttle. Scuttle is a seagull, while that bird is clearly a pelican. Perhaps it’s Nigel from “finding Nemo.”
At least Bambi is finally getting some attention in an attraction. I still hold out hope to ride Flower the Skunk.
