Why You Won’t Catch Us at These Disney World Hotels in 2025

Disney World occasionally needs a little extra love and care, which means certain rides and attractions are closed during certain times to be refurbished or re-imagined.

Construction at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn

Disney World schedules ride closures for routine maintenance, and some attractions may even have new additions or themes. However, it is not only rides and attractions that close for a little TLC; resorts also have closures from time to time.

As of right now, four Disney World hotels will be undergoing refurbishment during 2025, and you may want to avoid staying at them because of these closures.

Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Bay Lake Tower offers stunning views of Magic Kingdom and is so close to the park that you can walk to Magic Kingdom from the hotel! This resort has been in need of an upgrade for some time, and it is finally happening!

Bay Lake Tower

Starting in September 2024, Bay Lake Tower will undergo an extensive refurbishment. The resort will still be available for booking, but times and rooms could be limited. Guests staying at Bay Lake Tower might hear and see construction throughout the day, and certain parts of the resort may not be open.

The refurbishment is set to be completed in September 2025, meaning that Bay Lake Tower will be under construction for about a year.

Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts

One of the coolest things about staying at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club is the pools!

Unfortunately, both Stormalong Bay and the Shipwreck Pool will be closed from January 2025 to June 2025. During this closure, routine maintenance will be done. During the daytime, guests staying at this resort can expect to hear construction noises.

The good news is that this closure takes place during the colder months, and the pools will be open for the 2025 summer season. During the closure, guests will be able to swim at the Tidal, Admiral, and Dunes Cove leisure pools.

Also, starting in January 2025, the Fantasia Pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort will be closed until April 2025.

While this can be a bummer for those staying in the buildings closest to this pool, you will still be able to enjoy the Duck Pond Pool, which also has super fun! In addition, guests are also able to venture out to the pools at All-Star Sports and All-Star Music.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

The Island Village Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows will open in December 2024. However, construction will continue around the resort even after this new addition opens.

From now until 2026, those staying at the Polynesian can expect construction noise during the daytime. Views may also be blocked due to construction.

While it can be a bummer to have construction during your stay at Disney World, Disney does have plans, like allowing access to additional pools, to help accommodate you during your stay. As always, stay tuned to AllEars.net for more Disney news and updates!
