Well, I Did NOT Expect to Run Into THIS Problem on My Last Disney World Hotel Stay

There’s nothing better than heading back to your Disney Resort Hotel after a long day at the parks.

Just picture it. You’ve had a long day traversing distant lands and far-off places, eating the yummiest snacks, and riding your favorite attractions. Now finally you get to lay back, place your head on the fluffiest pillow, and watch some good ‘ol TV till you doze off. Except…there’s something missing.

Listen, there are a lot of perks when it comes to staying at a hotel in Disney World. You get complimentary resort transportation (the Skyliner is my personal favorite), access to exclusive resort amenities, and you get to stay inside of the Disney bubble! Everything is pretty much perfect. BUT, we found one thing that we realized we can’t enjoy when staying at a Disney hotel.

Pop Century Resort Room

All Disney World hotel TVs give you the option to cast shows and movies from your smartphone. That’s awesome and convenient when you want to watch something specific. When we attempted to cast YouTube, however, we came across an error message:

You can imagine our disappointment when all we wanted to do was curl up and watch our favorite YouTube videos after a long day. We’re not quite sure why the app is disabled from being cast on Disney hotel TVs, but given that the message states “Youtube works on improvements to the service”, we can predict that it might be available sometime in the future.

As one wise turtle might say, it’s a total bummer dude.

But it’s definitely not something that would ruin our stay or keep us from booking at a Disney hotel again. It’s a good thing to note, however, and next time we might pack a laptop or tablet to watch YouTube on a bigger screen OR catch up on some Disney+ content (they’re always something new added to the streaming service!)
