I’ve cruised on almost every single Disney Cruise ship so you’d think I would have discovered every cruise tip in the books.

I thought so too, but I was WRONG! With my most recent Disney cruise, I discovered a MAJOR way to make cruising with Disney so, so much easier — and pretty much no one knows about it.
Cruising on a Disney ship can be overwhelming, but it can also be so much fun. You can see what it’s really like in this video!
But let’s talk about that tip! Once you’re settled on a Disney cruise, the magic can begin. But, I think we can all agree that the worst part of a Disney cruise is getting to and from the ship.
Embarkation and disembarkation are LENGTHY processes, not to mention that many Disney ships sale from ports that are quite the distance from Central Florida (and probably even farther from wherever you’re coming from!).

That could mean you’re driving your own car to port from home — which typically means paying fees to keep your vehicle parked at the port. It could also mean you’re flying in to a nearby airport and booking ground transportation through Disney Cruise Line. And, if you’re coming from Disney World, you can get ground transportation to and from select Disney hotels.

But what if you’re doing a Disney World vacation followed by a Disney cruise WITHOUT staying at a Disney World hotel? Here’s where the tip comes in. You can use the Disney Cruise Line shuttle service from a Disney World hotel WITHOUT having a reservation there!

That’s right! If you’re staying at an AirBnb in the Disney area, at an off-property hotel, or even at your own home not too far from Disney; you can have the DCL shuttle service pick you up from the Disney hotel of your choice!

I used this recently, and it worked great! I live about 20 minutes from Disney World and did not want to drive my own car to port. So, I rideshared to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and met the Disney Cruise Line shuttle there! Despite not having a reservation at the hotel, my reservations for the cruise were enough, and it was smooth sailing (pun-intended) to Port Canaveral.
