It’s weird how some Disney World hotels have quite the reputation. We know a lot of people aren’t big fans of places like Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort because it’s so big.

Others aren’t big fans of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa because it’s so pricey. However, when it comes to complaints, we think we see the most for Disney’s All-Star Resorts. We’re just going to be controversial here and tell you that we love the All-Star Resorts. We’re also going to tell you why.
Disney has three All-Star Resorts: All-Star Music Resort, All-Star Movies Resort, and All-Star Sports Resort. Each resort is themed to its name. These are Disney World’s cheapest hotels, making them a good option for budget travelers, but for some reason, we see our readers complain about these hotels a lot. Honestly, though? We don’t get the hate.
Here’s why we love the All-Star Resorts.
Price
As we previously mentioned, the All-Star Resorts are the cheapest hotels in Disney World. If you’re traveling to Disney World on a budget and still want to stay in the Disney bubble, you’ll want to book a room at one of the All-Star Resorts. If you have a large group, you can even get a cheap family suite at All-Star Music (yes, it’s a lot cheaper than you’ll find elsewhere on property).

Staying at Disney’s All-Star Resorts is a great way to save money for things like food, souvenirs, and experiences. You can’t beat the price of these hotels.
Big Disney theming
If you stay at other Disney World hotels on property, the theming is pretty subtle, particularly in the moderate and deluxe resorts. Well, that is certainly not the case at the All-Star Resorts. The theming at these hotels is HUGE, and we find it absolutely delightful. You’ll find gigantic guitars and maracas at All-Star Music, gigantic football helmets and hockey sticks at All-Star Sports, and entire hotel sections dedicated to Disney films at All-Star Movies.

Even the pools at these hotels have fun themes. You’ve got the Three Caballeros hanging out in the middle of the pool at All-Star Music, while Sorcerer Mickey from Fantasia conducts water at the pool at All-Star Movies. The All-Star Sports main pool has a surfer theme.
Rooms feel brighter and fresher than moderate rooms
The All-Star Resorts received room upgrades several years ago, so these rooms feel a lot more modern than their moderate hotel counterparts. Disney also did a great job in giving these rooms a good use of space, especially with one of the queen beds being a Murphy bed that can be folded into the wall when not in use.

The rooms are also organized really well so you have plenty of space to store your things. Plus there are tons of outlets and USB ports to plug in your devices. We also think the beds are super comfy.
Great variety of food
Yes, we know the All-Star food courts aren’t exactly the same as dining at Victoria & Albert’s, but the menus have a huge variety of options that are sure to satisfy everyone in your group, including picky eaters.

You can also find a lot of great seasonal treats in these food courts, along with resort-specific offerings (like a fun themed cupcake). Finally, Mobile Order makes it easy to order your food and go pick it up when you’re ready.
Same perks as moderate hotels
Why pay more for a moderate hotel if you can get the same perks at the All-Star Resorts? Just like at moderate hotels, you get Early Theme Park Entry, Hey Disney, and complimentary transportation.

You’ll even find some of the same activities, like Movies Under the Stars, arts and crafts, and campfire activities (including S’mores).
So, as you can see, the All-Star Resorts may be the most underrated hotels on Disney World property. We love staying there and we’ll stay there again.
