Disney Announces NEW Virtual Queue for Hollywood Studios

We celebrated Disney World’s 50th Anniversary, EPCOT’s 40th Anniversary, Animal Kingdom’s 25th Anniversary, and The Walt Disney Company’s 100th Anniversary…but there’s another big anniversary coming up soon!

Yep, it’s time to finally celebrate Disney’s Hollywood Studios! The park turns 35 on May 1st, 2024 and we can’t wait to honor Disney World’s movie-themed extravaganza. In honor of the occasion, Disney has announced some special offerings!

On May 1st, 2024, Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be offering a virtual queue for visitors to shop for exclusive anniversary merchandise. Getting a boarding group will allow you to shop at Stage 1 Company Store for “adult and youth apparel, collectibles, and limited-release pins.”

To join the virtual queue, here’s what you should know:

You must have valid theme park admission (and a park reservation, if applicable) for Hollywood Studios.
You can join the virtual queue through the My Disney Experience app at 7AM ET on May 1st.
You do not need to be inside the park to join the queue.
Merchandise is subject to availability and joining the virtual queue does not guarantee access to the event.

We’ll make sure to keep you updated with the virtual queue process on the morning of the anniversary! You will join the virtual queue just like you do for TRON Lightcycle / Run or Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind — you can access the virtual queue page from the home screen of the My Disney Experience app.

One interesting thing about this event is that it will take place inside Stage 1 Company Store, a shop that has been closed since the pandemic. The store is located in the Grand Avenue section of the park and used to be home to Muppets-themed souvenirs. The store was briefly used for a Star Wars merchandise event in 2023, but hasn’t been open regularly in the past few years.
