Why We’re Getting Really Worried About EPCOT

EPCOT is one of our favorite parks, that much is for sure.

We love the entirety of World Showcase and how immersive it is, all the attractions you can experience, and don’t even get us started on how much we adore the food. However, we are starting to get a little — no, VERY — worried about the park.

Why, you may ask? Well, EPCOT’s Transformation is supposed to be done before the end of 2023, and, to be very blunt, it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen.

Construction as of October 26th

Walls are still up ALL over the place, and while we’re seeing progress being made, it doesn’t seem like it’s happening fast enough.

Something’s happening over here

There are only 7 weeks (yes, 7!) left in the year, and that’s a very little amount of time to complete everything else that needs to be done.

At this time, we still haven’t seen the opening of CommuniCore Hall and Plaza and Dreamer’s Point with the new Walt Disney Statue.

So many walls

Not to mention there are other aspects of the transformation that have been postponed like the Spaceship Earth reimagining, or not mentioned in months, like the PLAY! Pavilion. Are these just not going to be parts of the transformation anymore, or could they come as a second stage at a later time?

What will become of the PLAY! Pavilion?

You see where our concern is coming from then. There’s not much time left to announce if this completion date needs to be pushed back a few weeks, and we’re really unsure what to expect at this time. We want the walls to be down ASAP, but we also want the finished product to be worth all these years of waiting.
