NEW Details Revealed About Disney Cruise Line’s Latest Ship, the Treasure

Disney Cruise Line has an exciting addition on the horizon.

The Disney Treasure will be joining the fleet of Disney Cruise Line ships in 2024, and it’s going to have some impressive features. A new Coco-themed dinner show, new adventures with nods to the Jungle Cruise, and even a new Haunted Mansion lounge. Are you excited yet? We’ve got another update for you about this new ship!

Disney shared that the new Cruise Director for the Disney Treasure will be Darren McBurney! Darren has been sailing with the Disney Cruise Line for 25 years, holding more than 14 different positions before landing his dream role as Cruise Director.

Cruise Directors are an important part of a smooth-running cruise — responsible for everything from kicking off the morning show and introducing nighttime entertainment to managing all of the teams in entertainment, which includes lifeguards, youth activities, port adventures, technicians, and more.

He currently holds this position on the Disney Wish, where he will continue to sail while he researches logistics for potential Disney Treasure programming.

“I’m really looking forward to working with the leaders and making sure that our crew members, both seasoned and newbies have a smooth and meaningful onboarding process,” Darren said. “That’s one of the things in the back of my mind, always.”

In addition to this news, Disney also recently shared new details about the upcoming Haunted Mansion Parlor — the all-new lounge coming to the Treasure!

At this new spot, you’ll have a chance to step out of the dune buggy and get your own immersive Haunted Mansion experience, complete with themed cocktails.

Attend a funeral for the sea captain, join a seance with Madame Leota, and hear from the Ghost Host himself. There will also be some fun new exclusive merchandise for the lounge on board! You can read all about the new lounge here.
