The NEW Mirabel Meet and Greet Is One Step CLOSER to Opening in Disney World!

There’s a Merida-shaped hole in the middle of Fantasyland right now. Back in the day, Merida (from Pixar’s Brave) had her own meet-and-greet at Fairytale Garden in Fantasyland. Then, back in July, Merida relocated to meet guests over in the gazebo by Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe.

So, what’s happening with the old area that Merida used to use? Well, Disney previously shared that a NEW character would take over the space — Mirabel from Encanto! We’re still waiting for the grand opening, but this most recent update proves Disney is one step closer to opening this space.

As a reminder, this is what the Merida meet and greet area looked like before construction began. There were lots of little Brave-inspired details and tapestries throughout the space.

We can’t wait to see what changes!

More recently, the meet and greet area looked like this. There’s a large construction wall blocking the gates, but generally, the area hasn’t changed much (yet).

Here’s what it looked like about one month ago

Well, during our most recent visit to Magic Kingdom, we saw some exciting progress! Check it out — we spotted some colorful FLOWERS! As a reminder, this space will open on September 15th. Soon, you’ll be able to meet Mirabel “in her magical casita” right in Magic Kingdom!

Let’s take a closer look. Enhance! Perhaps this was the work of Mirabel’s magical sister, Isabela. The space is already looking more Encanto-y, don’t you think?
