5 Things You’ll Do for the FIRST TIME in Disney World in 2024

2024 is fast approaching — yes, it’s already August!

EPCOT

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party starts this month, EPCOT’s Food and Wine Festival (the second to last festival of the year) has begun, and it’ll be New Year’s before we know it. So what new things will 2024 be bringing to Disney World? Here are 5 things you’ll do for the FIRST time next year.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be opening sometime in 2024, and we can’t wait to experience this new ride!

Walt Disney Imagineering is creating an original, next chapter story for Tiana. Within the attraction queue, guests will discover that she continues to grow her business with Tiana’s Foods – an employee-owned cooperative. Combining her talents with those of the local community, Tiana has transformed an aging salt mine and built a beloved brand. (DISNEY)

We don’t have an official date for this ride yet, but we do know Disney has been hard at work transforming the ride ever since Splash Mountain closed its doors. Here’s a look at the construction progress; there’s scaffolding EVERYWHERE!

We’ll be sure to keep an eye out for an opening date and let you know as soon as we hear what it is.

New Cabins At Fort Wilderness

Fort Wilderness Resort will also be getting some new cabins in 2024.

There will be over 350 new, refreshed cabins by the end of 2024. Here’s a peek at the concept art first shared by Disney.

According to Disney, the new cabins will feature a bedroom, bathroom, living room, kitchen, and private patio while being built with a modern flair that respects the footprint of the original cabins to not interfere with the environment too much.

New DVC Villas at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will also be getting new DVC villas that are already well underway.

These are expected to open in late 2024 and will not only provide more rooms near Seven Seas Lagoon but will also offer more dining options.

Use The Dining Plan Again!

YES, the Disney Dining Plan is returning to Disney World in January of 2024!

If you and your crew love to take advantage of all the food at Disney World, the Disney Dining Plan could be for you!

This was deeply missed by many guests after the pandemic park closures in 2020, and is finally returning on January 9th, 2024. It doesn’t look exactly as it did before, so be sure to do your research before your trip to see if it works for you and your travel party.

More of EPCOT’s Expansion

Lastly, we’re expecting to see more of those walls come down in EPCOT and reveal more of EPCOT’s big expansion.

EPCOT Construction

We know that Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana is set to open in 2023, but as of right now, we’re still waiting for more specific timelines for several big projects. As you can see from a recent visit to EPCOT, Journey of Water looks like it is almost ready to open to the public!

Look at all that mist!

However, construction appears to be coming along, so we’re hoping to hear about more of these walls coming down in 2024!
