It’s been a wild few years for Disney.

Things have been constantly shifting in the parks since they reopened from the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic closures. Now, in 2023, mask mandates are gone, social distancing is a thing of the past, and the parks feel back to “normal”. However, some things still haven’t returned — including the Disney Dining Plan — but now we have a major update!
The Disney Dining Plan allows guests to pay for meals in advance through dining credits that can be redeemed at snack, quick service, and table service locations throughout the Disney Parks, resorts, and Disney Springs. It has been M.I.A. since the 2020 closures, but now we know when it is coming back!

The Disney Dining Plan is officially returning in 2024! It will be available to book for Disney World hotel stays starting January 9th, 2024 with the Quick Service Dining Plan or the Basic Disney Dining Plan. The dining plans will only be available as part of a package and at this time, the Disney Dining Plan Plus and the Deluxe Disney Dining Plan are not set to return.

How does this work for Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Members? Well, Annual Passholders will be able to book room-only and add the dining plan. DVC Members will be able to book the dining plan on a DVC points hotel reservation, but they will need to do so by calling the DVC line in the first few weeks. It appears this will not be available to do online, but we’ll update as more information emerges.

Specifics about the returning Disney Dining Plans haven’t been released just yet — Disney says the full list of locations will be shared on May 31st when bookings open for 2024 Disney World trips.
