If you’re heading to Disney World this week, there are a couple of ride closures that you should know about.

A popular ride has shut down permanently in Magic Kingdom, and another one will be closed for just one day in EPCOT. To help you prepare for your upcoming trip, we have a list of all the scheduled closures in Disney World for this week, from July 16th through the 22nd.
Magic Kingdom Closures
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Splash Mountain closed on January 23rd, and it’ll remain closed until late 2024.

Disney is re-theming the ride to give it a Princess and the Frog theme. When it reopens, it’ll be called Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

On a recent trip, we spotted the new “Tiana’s Foods” water tower up in front of the ride. We’ll keep an eye out for more updates.

Barrel Bridge at Tom Sawyer Island
Over on Tom Sawyer Island, the barrel bridge is currently closed. In fact, it’s missing completely!

A Cast Member told us that the bridge had been removed for refurbishments, and they’re not sure when it might be back.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios Closures
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
This stage show about The Little Mermaid has been closed for a long time in Hollywood Studios.

Disney hasn’t announced when or if the show will reopen.

EPCOT Closures
Spaceship Earth
Spaceship Earth will be closed on Wednesday, July 19th.

According to Disney World’s website, the closure should only last for one day.
Tokyo Dining
Tokyo Dining is currently closed in the Japan pavilion.

The restaurant is being refurbished to become Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya, which will serve sushi and teppan items.

Shiki-Sai is expected to open in the summer of 2023.
Refreshment Station
Refreshment Station is closed right now, and it’s expected to reopen on July 27th.

That’s the start of the Food & Wine Festival, so we’re hoping that means some new festival items will be featured on the menu when it reopens.
Refreshment Port
Like Refreshment Station, Refreshment Port is closed until July 27th.

When it reopens for the Food & Wine Festival, it’ll serve Braised Beef Poutine and a Cinnamon-Sugar Beaver Tail.

Disney World Hotel Refurbishments
There are several construction projects happening at Disney World hotels right now. Over at Fort Wilderness Resort & Campgrounds, the Trail’s End Restaurant is closed. When it reopens this summer, this spot will no longer be a table service restaurant. Instead, it’ll be “a marketplace concept with expanded quick service options.”

There’s also lots of construction happening at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, as a new DVC tower is being built. You might see or hear construction if you’re staying at that hotel.

Over at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, some of the guest rooms are being updated, and the lobby is also getting a refresh.

Also, there are a couple of NEW restaurants coming to the BoardWalk: The Cake Bake Shop and Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs.

Disney’s Blizzard Beach
Disney World’s Blizzard Beach Water Park has closed for refurbishments. Disney hasn’t announced how long this closure will last.

Typhoon Lagoon — Disney World’s other water park — is currently open.
