Everyone’s Asking About This Disney World Hotel Perk That’s Mysteriously Missing

Staying at a Disney World hotel can certainly have its perks, but there’s one in particular that we’re left wondering if we’ll ever see come back.

While Disney is really starting to give on a few experiences coming back like the return of the Disney Dining Plan, bounceback room offers, and park pass reservations to stop for select guests in 2024 as well, there’s still another small perk that hotel guests really would like to see return.

Disney hotels used to offer various perks to those that chose to stay in one of their on-site hotels. Sometimes they were small things like extra time in the parks, or something much bigger like complimentary round-trip shuttles between your hotel to the Orlando International Airport. While we’ve seen a few of those things come back (sometimes in a completely different version and not what they once were), there’s one that seems to be asked about constantly — package delivery.

Shipping and Package Pick-Up Sign

Before the closures in March 2020, if you had purchased something inside the parks and didn’t want to lug it around with you during your park day, you could opt to leave it with a Cast Member at the counter where you purchased it and then your items would be brought to your room.

Package Pick-Up at the Resorts and Parks saves you from carrying lots of stuff around.

This was especially helpful if you bought something big, bulky, heavy, or breakable, or just didn’t want to potentially lose or ruin your souvenirs. The only condition to this additional perk for hotel guests was that you needed a day in between delivery and the day you check out so two days prior so cast members had plenty of time to deliver your items. The best part of this perk is that it was completely complimentary no matter which Disney hotel you were staying in.

Special Delivery

Since the reopening of the parks, Disney has remained fairly mum about this service. Park visitors seem confused as to why it hasn’t returned and if we’ll ever see it come back as a “perk” complimentary or paid to hotel guests.

Since Disney hasn’t made mention of this service returning for now all we have to go on is hope and a wish that maybe this service will return in the future. We’ll be certain to update you further if we learn of its confirmed status in the future, so be sure you’re following AllEars for the latest in Disney World news.

  1. It definitely cut our spending amount for souvenirs on our last trip in November 22. No fun lugging around packages in the park or for that matter Disney Springs. My son tends to buy the “breakable items” from the different Art of Disney locations but we discouraged him due to the chance of breakage. And if you wait to get the stuff before you leave the parks it results in a lot of extra steps and backtracking when we are already exhausted. Please, Disney, bring this back as soon as the manpower is available again!

  2. Even Universal had at least a “ship your package to the front and pick up at the end of the night” option. Surprised Disney has not offered the same. My friend used to spend $1000 a day on disney souvenirs to take home for friends and relatives, but that shipped sailed once they discontinued the service (he did not want to spend the time shipping to home from every gift shop). Seems Disney is losing alot of money not bringing back that perk, but then again, I do not know who owns those gifts shops or who receives the profits…follow the $$$
