NEW LOOK at the DreamWorks Land Coming to Universal Orlando, Including…an Outhouse Slide?

Universal Studios has been hard at work building out its newest land, which is opening this summer!

While we’ve all been sitting at the edge of our seats in anticipation of more news beyond the concept art that was most recently released and relying on what construction progress we could see from the park, Universal is finally giving us a preview of what’s to come when it officially opens in June 2024!

Universal Studios recently released a short preview of its upcoming DreamWorks Land, which is expected to open on June 14th. Up until now, we haven’t seen too much of the land, so when Universal decided to drop this teaser to officially announce some of the rides, attractions, and even treats you’ll find here, you can bet we were hanging on every word!

So what exactly did Universal have to fill us in about DreamWorks Land? Let’s break it down! The preview started by introducing us to Dean, the creative director from Universal Creative overseeing DreamWorks Land and its construction.

Dean talks about how excited he is for us to finally step foot into the amazing land they’ve created with familiar characters for kids and big kids to enjoy together like Shrek, Trolls, and Kung Fu Panda. First, Dean took us to see Shrek’s Cottage!

This is where you’ll get to meet Shrek, Fiona, and (of course) Donkey once again in Universal Studios for a “very special moment” and get to take a few photos with them while you’re there.

Then Dean whisked us over to Shrek’s Swamp For Little Ogres and called it a “very fun spot.” Here, you’ll also be able to meet with Pinocchio from the Shrek films at his Fact Shack. 

If that sounds interesting already, you’re in for a treat! You can press the doorbell button just below Pinocchio’s stand, which will have him come out to speak to you. But be careful, because he might tell you things that just aren’t quite true! Oh, Pinocchio!

Shrek’s Outhouse is another part of the play place you’ll find in Dreamworks Land! There’s a slide connected to the outhouse. However, keep in mind that Dean warned us about going down the slide because we just might hear “a little surprise” at the end!

Trolls Treats is where you can pick up your “Popalicious Pink” or your “Brozone Berry” ice creams (and of course, we can’t wait to try them BOTH)!

An exciting adventure through the Trolls forest awaits us when we hop aboard the Caterbus and take a ride on the Trolls’ Trollercoaster!

Last but not least on our preview we made a brief stop by Po’s Training Camp where we can step up to the gong, pull the rope… and ALERT THE ENTIRE VILLAGE! Oh, boy… there sounds like a story behind that!
