EPCOT's Most Controversial Feature Is Finally GONE!

IT FINALLY HAPPENED Y’ALL!

When the Harmonious barges arrived in EPCOT they were met with…well, not a lot of enthusiasm. Though the barges were originally set to have a daytime water fountain feature, that never quite came to be. Instead, many fans felt that the barges were simply an eyesore, blocking the view across World Showcase lagoon. There were cheers heard ’round the World when Disney announced that the barges would be going away (with the end of Harmonious) and now that removal appears to be COMPLETE.

It’s time to say “bye, bye, bye” to the Harmonious barges!

The barges had been gradually removed over the past few months and on May 17th we found that ALL of the barges were GONE.

That’s right folks — no more taco barges at all. The view is CLEAR across World Showcase lagoon, with a few little things sprinkled here and there in the water (but nothing as large as the prior barges).

Note that for now, the EPCOT Forever fireworks show is temporarily being shown in EPCOT.

By late 2023, a NEW fireworks show will arrive at EPCOT. This show will celebrate Disney’s 100th anniversary and “will unite us through commonalities of the heart in a dazzling display of fireworks, lasers, music, and light.” The show will have an original composition with “select songs from the Disney songbook.”

EPCOT will also become the “home” of the 100th Anniversary celebration in Disney World. And more updates will hit the parks soon, including a new meet-and-greet area, a new Moana walk-through attraction, and other additions.
