Let’s be honest, there are LOTS of rides in Magic Kingdom.

We’ve ranked all of Magic Kingdom’s rides in the past, but everyone’s personal ranking is different based on their preferences. So if you’re deciding to rope drop, what ride should you head to FIRST in order to avoid a long wait later in the day?
If you are unfamiliar with rope drop, it is getting to a Disney park early so you can be inside right when it opens (when the “rope drops”!). People will queue up at the entrance pretty early so it usually involves arriving a little bit before opening — that way you can be as close to the front of the line as possible!

We took to Facebook to ask you all, our readers, what rides you run to first thing in the morning, and you let us know!
Jungle Cruise
First on the list is Jungle Cruise, or when it’s the holiday season, the Jingle Cruise!

This ride is consistently one that books up for Lightning Lanes very fast, so if you’ve missed your chance to grab one or you aren’t using Genie+ that day, many guests head to this ride first.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
This one’s no surprise — Seven Dwarfs Mine Train was another one many of our readers mentioned.

The only way to skip the line at this attraction is by buying an Individual Lightning Lane for an additional fee, which is why many guests rope-drop it. Since SO many visitors head to this ride first, you may not be able to walk right on the ride (which is possible at some other attractions), but your wait will likely be significantly shorter than if you waited to ride until later in the day.

Peter Pan’s Flight
Many families also said they rope drop Peter Pan’s Flight!

Peter Pan’s Flight often has extremely long standby waits in Magic Kingdom due to the nostalgia that many people have for it and the fact that it is a slow loader. It’s also a great ride everyone in the family can enjoy, as there is no height requirement.

Space Mountain
Many guests also said Space Mountain is their choice for a rope drop ride.

Many of our readers shared that they’ll go to Space Mountain first because they can ride it 2-3 times back to back with no wait!

Haunted Mansion
The last popular attraction our readers said they rope drop is the Haunted Mansion.

This ride may be a surprise to some, but it can build up some very high wait times later in the day, so getting it done first is a way a lot of families like to start their day.
See how Haunted Mansion will be different by the end of 2023!
And those are the 5 rides that our readers said they prefer to rope drop! If you’re staying at a Disney World hotel, remember that you get early theme park entry! You’ll be let into the parks 30 minutes before the official opening time and have the opportunity to knock out a few rides before the rest of the crowds arrive.

I highly recommend if you’re a resort guest using that early time to do Seven Dwarfs Mine train. Yes, even if that is how virtually every other resort guest does it, your wait in the line is only half an hour, which means you’ve basically got that ride done as full rope drop is starting in one of the shortest waits you’ll see all day.
