7 Things We’re Literally Begging Disney Adults To Stop Doing in Disney World Hotels

Disney World hotels are really magical…until someone ruins the vibe.

Coronado Springs Resort

We know you love Disney. We do too! But even in the Most Magical Place on Earth, there’s still a little thing called common courtesy. If you’re a Disney Adult staying at a Walt Disney World hotel, here are 7 things we are literally begging you to stop doing—before someone’s vacation (or sanity) gets wrecked.

If you’re looking for a travel agent to help with your vacation, we recommend our friends at Mouse Fan Travel. They’re experts in the field with over 20 years of vacation planning experience, and they can help take a bunch of the stress out of the entire booking process for you!

Showing Up at 9 AM and Demanding a Room

We get it — you caught the first flight, you’re hyped, and you want to drop your bags and hit the parks. But demanding early check-in like it’s your right? That’s not it.

The lobby of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Rooms get turned over based on checkout times and availability, and you showing up three hours early insisting “My room has to be ready” doesn’t make the system move faster. Bell Services will hold your luggage. Go explore.

Trying to Score a Free Upgrade “Just Because”

Asking nicely is one thing. But the moment we hear the words “I’m a huge Disney fan” followed by “so can I get a free upgrade?”, we know where this is going.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Disney hotels are not Oprah’s couch — you don’t get an upgrade just because you wore a vintage Figment tee to check in. Rooms are assigned for a reason, and unless something is actually wrong with your booking, don’t expect Pixie Dust on demand.

Walking Around Barefoot

Look, if you want to go barefoot in your own hotel room, go wild. But the pool deck? Hallways? Lobby?? No. This isn’t your living room, and it’s definitely not hygienic.

Saratoga Springs lobby

Wear your flip-flops, Crocs, slides — whatever. Just please stop padding around the resort like you’re auditioning for Tarzan: The Deluxe Resort Edition.

Screaming Down the Hallways at 11 PM

We love that you’re jazzed about your next day in Magic Kingdom, but we don’t need a recap of your EPCOT bar crawl at full volume in the hallway at night.

Contemporary Resort

People are sleeping. Kids are sleeping. Cast Members are trying to rest after a full shift. Quiet hours exist for a reason, and your excited monologue can wait until breakfast.

Hoarding Lounge Chairs Like You’re Starting a Collection

Here’s the deal: If you’re not actively using a lounge chair at the pool, don’t claim it with a towel, sunscreen, and one lonely Croc.

Pop Century

Reserving chairs “just in case” your group might show up two hours later isn’t fair to other guests who are, you know, actually there. This isn’t Survivor. Nobody gets voted off the pool deck if they don’t mark their territory.

Leaving Trash About

Let’s remember that it’s a resort. Not a frat party. We don’t need to see half-eaten chicken tenders, used napkins, or empty cups abandoned poolside.

Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort

There are trash cans and Cast Members working hard to keep the place beautiful. Let’s help them out and clean up after ourselves.

Feeding the Ducks, Squirrels, or Whatever Animal You Think Is “Cute”

We get it. That little duck waddling around the resort looks like it came straight out of a Disney movie. But feeding the wildlife? That’s a big no no.

Warning signs at Disney World

Not only is it bad for the animals (they get sick, aggressive, and dependent), but it also messes up the ecosystem around the hotel. You’re not Snow White. Let nature do its thing—without your popcorn.

We know most Disney Adults mean well, but a little self-awareness goes a long way when you’re staying at a Disney resort. You don’t have to be perfect, just be respectful to other guests, to Cast Members, and to the experience you’re all there to enjoy.

  1. My peeve is about noisy children but it’s the parents’ fault for letting them get out of control. The first instance was in AKL Jambo house where we had a room where our entrance door overlooked the main lobby. The whole area echos and children running and screaming round the lobby at nearly midnight can be heard very easily in these rooms. The second instance was in AKL Kidani Village. We had a studio which had an adjoining door to the 1 bed next door. I know children are excited to be at Disney (I’m excited to be at Disney) but if your kids start getting hyper at 6 in the morning in your living room please be aware that the door in between leads to someone else’s bedroom!

  2. THANK YOU!!! THIS ALLLLL OF THIS AS SOMEONE THAT WORKS IN HOSPITALITY PEOPLE JUST DO NOT KNOW HOW TO ACT IN HOTELS ANYMORE!!!

  3. These are great!! Especially the screaming down the hallway. I would include telling the kids not to also. People who got in late, are trying to sleep.
And towels on chairs….come on. Sorry, but I have waited & actually moved towels, of a person doesn’t show in 15 minutes.
My peeve is…. I travel with my service dog. Everyone wants to pet him. One day in the pool area, he was under my chair and I was in the pool, about 10 ft away. He was watching me, as he should. A lady trying to get him out and wanting to pet him. I told her nicely to ‘please’ stay away from him. She continued. Finally he growls at her. She screamed, ‘he bit me!’ I told her she was wrong and she was told to leave him alone. I got out and asked her to show me the bite. She huffed & stormed away. Service Dogs are working & not an attraction.

  4. Lol as a former Disney Millennial now a Disney Dad, half of these read like people jealous they’re not on a child free vacation.

  5. I understand wanting to be kind and not waste things but PLEASE do not offer up and leave alcohol outside your room. Some hotels have become a second hand store of sorts and it is getting out of control. What they are calling ‘pixie dust’ is leftovers from their trip 🤷🏻‍♀️ If you want to give it away do it in person especially if it is alcohol the hotels this is happening at most are where groups of teenagers without parents present are staying.
