Planning on making a major SPLASH at your Resort’s swimming pool during your Disney World vacation? Well, you may have a bigger choice to make than you think when it comes to your Disney World Resort choice, in that case!

Of course, Disney World Resort pools share several things in common, including fun theming and family-friendly activities. But the variety of themes and styles may surprise you. So we’re sharing our list of all of the Disney World Resort hotel pools… RANKED!
20. Surfboard Pool at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort
Before we DIVE in (ha!), there’s something we want to address. There’s certainly nothing bad about the Surfboard Pool at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort. After all, any 242,471-gallon pool surrounded with palm trees and GIANT colorful surfboards…

… sure beats the pool at my local gym! With plenty of room for splashing, this one ranks as “last” because, as is the case with the Value Resort pools (with some exceptions), there are no additions like hot tubs or water slides. But sometimes one GREAT BIG POOL is all you need!

Guests at All-Star Sports may also get a kick out of the smaller Grand Slam Pool featuring Goofy as the star pitcher!
19. Calypso Pool at Disney’s All-Star Music
Ever swim in a giant GUITAR? You will if you swim in the Calypso Pool at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort!

With the Three Caballeros providing the focal point, these fine feathered musicians are complemented by the larger-than-life bongos and maracas decorating the buildings directly in the area.

The smaller Piano Pool provides another area for guests to take a dip.
18. Fantasia Pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort
Who else would you expect at the helm of the Fantasia Pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort other than Sorcerer Mickey himself?!

He’s ready to magic-up a little extra splash for all the swimmers below! Just like the Calypso and Surfboard Pools, Fantasia is likewise GIGANTIC! And, also like the other main All-Star pools, there is a kiddie pool nearby for the wee ones.
The smaller hockey-rink Duck Pond Pool might strike you as belonging at All-Star Sports…

… but it’s here at All-Star Movies to represent the film, The Mighty Ducks!
17. Feature Pool at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
The main pool at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is simply called the Feature Pool. It’s certainly fun getting your afternoon swim in with the Contemporary in view, complete with glimpses of the Monorail from time to time!

And that winding slide you see offers plenty of zip! It’s a clean and crisp design; however, guests looking for more whimsy might choose elsewhere.
Guests can also relax at the Bay Lake Pool, or in one of the Resort’s hot tubs.

Note that the Bay Cove Pool at Bay Lake Tower is exclusively reserved for guests and Disney Vacation Club members staying at Bay Lake Tower.
16. Hippy Dippy Pool at Disney’s Pop Century Resort
Let’s hear it for the far-out and grooooovy Hippy Dippy Pool at Disney’s Pop Century Resort! Channel all your Flower Power into a fun swim at this enormous pool.

But watch out… all that Flower Power surrounding YOU might just give you a splash or two!
Pop Century is also home to the Bowling Pool.

AND the Computer Pool!

(Old school floppy discs included 😉 !) Now THAT’S one computer that definitely won’t fit into your pocket!
15. Sandcastle Pool at Disney’s Old Key West Resort
Now, if whimsy is what you seek… how about the Sandcastle Pool at Disney’s Old Key West Resort?!

The 125-foot-long waterslide takes swimmers right through that sandcastle and out the carved-in MICKEY design! A unique feature here is a dry sauna tucked inside the lighthouse at the pool deck. Additional features include a whirlpool and kiddie pool. Guests can also enjoy any of the Resort’s three leisure pools.
14. High Rock Pool at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort
Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort has several swimming areas, including the High Rock Pool. No matter that, we’re sliiiightly jealous of the Donald Duck-inspired splash area for kids. Hey, we big kids still have a 128-foot-long slide to play on among those “high rocks,” along with waterfalls to admire. All in all, not too bad!

The Paddock Pool actually boasts an even bigger slide and plays up the equestrian element of Saratoga Springs… including a whirlpool shaped like a horseshoe!

Three leisure pools can also be found around Saratoga Springs Resort.
13. Meadow Swimmin’ Pool at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground
Happy Campers can become Happy SWIMMERS at the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground!

This fun, rustic pool offers a 67-foot-long corkscrew waterslide, a kids splash area, and a whirlpool.

The relaxing Wilderness Pool is also an option for guests. BUT it’s important to know that the Campground pools — unlike the other Resort pools — do not provide towels, and guests must bring their own.
12. Ol’ Man Island at Port Orleans Resort — Riverside
Port Orleans Resort — Riverside is where you’ll come across Ol’ Man Island Pool… or should I say fishing hole? Disney shares that this 3.5-acre area was “fashioned after an abandoned sawmill,” and a small rustic structure spouts water from pieces that enhance that story.

A 95 foot-long waterslide, hot tub, and kiddie pool add to the offerings. This sprawling Resort also offers five leisure pools.
11. Luna Park Pool at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn
Okay… Luna Park Pool at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is not without its share of controversy. After all, the Keister Coaster (Luna Park’s slide) was the reason Luna Park was previously known as the “Scary Clown” Pool.

The fun scene is complete with a whirlpool, kiddie pool, and the charming carnivalesque Leaping Horse Libations Pool Bar.
Two small leisure pools are also available at BoardWalk Inn for guests.
10. Riviera Pool at Disney’s Riviera Resort
Disney’s Riviera Resort is the newest Disney Vacation Club Resort in Disney World, and the sparkling zero-entry Riviera Pool makes an impression. The design is comparatively simpler than many of the other pools we’re discussing here — less whimsical and more minimalist.

But that sure doesn’t mean it’s not FUN with its wind-around slide and the Fantasia-themed splash pad for kids by the name of S’il Vous Play!

A HUGE bonus here is the close proximity to Bar Riva. While all of the Disney pool bars are a great place to grab a drink, Bar Riva — unlike other pool bars — is practically a food destination all its own!

The Beau Soleil Pool is another option for guests at Riviera looking for a more peaceful setting.
9. Doubloon Lagoon at Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter
Welcome to Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter… home to Doubloon Lagoon! First of all, this pool’s name earns an extra point for being fun to say. But that, of course, is just the beginning. 😉

This Mardi Gras-themed winding pool area has “Scales” as its major highlight: a 51-foot-long sea serpent slide, ruled over by King Neptune reminiscent of a Mardi Gras float!

The festive scene is made complete with a splash zone and Mardi Grogs Pool Bar.

And an alligator jazz band leads the way to it all!
8. Copper Creek Springs Pool at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
Fancy a dip in a Northwest spring? Well, the Copper Creek Springs Pool in Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is as close as you can get in Central Florida! Of course, this pool is comfortably heated, and complete with a 67-foot waterslide… plus a hot whirlpool AND a cold one!

One of the coolest things, though, is that the pool “starts” from the lobby of the Lodge! You’ll find the beginning of Copper Creek bubbling away in a corner of the Lodge’s stunning lobby, with a small walking bridge over it. The water flows outside and you can follow its path as you take downward steps towards Copper Creek Springs (the pool)! It’s the quintessential Disney touch.

The Boulder Ridge Cove Pool is available as well, offering a quiet respite among within the Boulder Ridge Villas section.
7. The Big Blue Pool at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
The Big Blue Pool at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is the largest Resort pool in Disney World. In fact, Disney shares that it holds over 308,527 gallons of water! Surrounding all the splashing are larger-than-life set pieces featuring characters like Nemo and Crush.

The Schoolyard Sprayground area is a HUGE boon for the little ones, and there is even a dry play area with the addition of Squirt’s Righteous Reef.

The two smaller pools at the Resort are no less well-themed, with the Cozy Cone Pool in the Cars section surrounded by orange-cone cabanas… all right there in Radiator Springs!

The Flippin’ Fins Pool allows guests to make a splash “Under the Sea” in The Little Mermaid section.
6. Beach Pool and Courtyard Pool at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort
Disney World’s flagship Resort, the Grand Floridian, offers guests both the Beach Pool and the Courtyard Pool. The zero-entry Beach Pool, themed to evoke natural springs, is complete with a walking bridge and waterfalls.

And right next door is what might be the BEST splash pad of all. Kiddos love the Alice in Wonderland themed area where they can have a blast as they anticipate the tip of the Mad Hatter’s hat and get ABSOLUTELY DRENCHED.

Nearby, the Courtyard Pool — which, of the two, is considered the leisure pool — is certainly nothing to sneeze at, either!

The gentle zero-entry slope and bubbling mini fountains make the Courtyard Pool equally as memorable.
5. Lost City of Cibola Pool at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort doesn’t just have a pool. Oh, no… what this Resort has is the Lost City of Cibola Pool, with a 50-foot pyramid setting the scene among the Mayan ruins! A 123-foot-long waterslide adds to the sense of adventure at what altogether is called The Dig Site — the area where you’ll also encounter the largest hot tub in Disney World!

A kiddie pool and the Siestas Cantina pool bar are also nearby, and guests looking for a more quiet setting can also make use of any of the three leisure pools at the Resort.
4. Uzima Springs Pool
Aaaaah… start to feel a little more relaxed just thinking about the Uzima Springs Pool at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. This HUGE and gorgeous pool has a relatively simple design, allowing it to make the most of its surroundings, which includes the stunning architecture of the Lodge’s Jambo House, lush greenery, and the Uzima Springs Watering Hole with its signature thatched roof.

Better yet? It’s all just steps away from the Uzima Savanna, allowing guests to catch glimpses of some of the Lodge’s animals.

Guests interested in having access to a splash area for children will find one by the name of Uwanja Camp at the Samawati Springs Pool at the Lodge’s Kidani Village.
3. Lava Pool at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
What might be best known as the “Volcano Pool” is actually named the Lava Pool at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. But that volcano is a true landmark of the Polynesian, and it also happens to house a 142 foot-long waterslide.

The zero-entry pool for all ages is also right next to a COMPLETELY EPIC tiki-themed splash pad for the kiddos. Oh, and did we mention that there are Magic Kingdom Cinderella Castle views AND that DOLE Whip is just a few steps away at Pineapple Lanai?
ALOHA, indeed!!

The Polynesian’s also-lovely Oasis Pool doesn’t feature as many bells and whistles, but this peaceful pool boasts the Oasis Bar & Grill with a substantial and tasty food menu.
2. Fuentes del Morro Pool at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
Fancy yourself a landlubber, do ye? Well, matey, we hope ye AAAAARRR ready for some serious poolside fun at the pirate’s lair that is the Fuentes del Morro Pool at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort!

This colonial Spanish fortress-themed pool ranks so high not only for its fantastic theming — complete with water-spraying cannons and a shipwreck play area for the little ones — but also for its TWO slides and close proximity to the beloved Banana Cabana pool bar… which is SO much more than a pool bar!

The area also features a 12-person whirlpool, and five leisure pools are also available around the sprawling Resort.
And now, friends… the NUMBER ONE POOL in all of Disney World…
1. Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts
The 3-acre Stormalong Bay is shared by guests at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, and is basically a destination unto itself. A Lazy River. A sand bottom and mini sand beaches. One of the longest slides at a Disney World hotel. A pool just for kiddos. Three whirlpools. A tanning deck.

Add to that a shipwreck theme for the slide and the kids’ pool, and you have got yourself one completely unforgettable Resort pool… if “pool” is the right word, that is.

Because Stormalong Bay is practically a mini water park, and one that your family won’t soon forget!

No matter which resort we choose, I always try to find at least one day to spend by the pool! Not only is it a great way to recover from the nonstop action of the parks, but it’s usually an experience to remember in itself. In fact, most of my memories from my first Disney trip at five are from the Caribbean Beach pool. Nothing like getting tired out in the Florida sun before a little afternoon snooze. Although we’ve stayed at quite a few resorts over the years, my favorite has been Port Orleans French Quarter’s pool area. It’s not too big and not too small, like the Goldilocks of resort pools! Plenty to do without being overwhelming or hard to keep track of your group. I’m most excited to see Stormalong Bay after the maintenance is finished, hopefully by June of next year. We’re planning a long stay after that’s done and would love to spend it at Beach Club. 😊
