What Crowds Look Like at a SOLD OUT After Hours Event in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

After Hours events are back in Disney World!

Hollywood Studios

These separate-ticketed events allow guests to enjoy lower crowds and ride waits, complimentary snacks, and more. The event we attended was sold out, just like a few others, but what do crowds really look like during these events? We headed into the park to find out!

Coming into the park, we noticed that the line to check in was definitely full.

The queue to get into the park was decently long as well.

Entrance Line

Crowds were pretty heavy before the event officially began, as there was an overlap between when event guests are allowed in and when regular park guests must exit.

Lots of people!

We also saw guests lining up an HOUR early for the 9:30 Fantasmic! show. This also was around the time that the 8PM show let out, which caused quite a bit of crowding.

There was also a big crowd of guests watching the shows projected onto The Chinese Theater.

Big crowds!

But once the event started, the park seemed EMPTY!

No crowds in Galaxy’s Edge!

For reference, this was Rise of the Resistance, with NO line out in the outside queue.

Look at that!

Then we saw parts of the park that looked, literally, completely empty!

No one!

We almost felt like we had private access to the park!

Totally empty

There were areas where we could see a couple people strolling, but it was a far cry from the crowds we were a part of earlier. Toy Story Land was particularly empty.

The only people outside of Woody’s Lunch Box were Cast Members at this point!

We took one last look down the completely empty boulevard before heading out.

Where’d everyone go?

This is pretty wild since this event was sold out. Ride lines were MUCH shorter than they normally are, so if you’re hoping to knock out the rides in the park with the shortest lines possible, you may choose an after-hours ticket instead of a regular park ticket! We’re looking forward to Magic Kingdom’s first after-hours event next week, so stay tuned to AllEars!
