The Jungle Cruise Holiday Overlay is BACK in Disney World

When you think about the Jungle Cruise, what comes to mind? Corny jokes, hilarious skippers, and the back side of water? While those are staples of this ride, things in the jungle look a little DIFFERENT when the holiday season begins!

Jungle Cruise

During recent years, the Jungle Cruise has gotten a bit of a holiday makeover — transforming into the Jingle Cruise to bring some holiday cheer to the river. And with the Christmas tree and holiday decor back up in Magic Kingdom, the folks at Disney decided it was time to throw some holiday decor in the jungle as well — the Jingle Cruise is BACK!

If you look at the My Disney Experience app, you’ll see that the Jungle Cruise has changed into its “Jingle Cruise” seasonal offering.

Wait times for this offering can be long as it is one of the holiday ride overlays that is available to the public and is not exclusive to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

At around 11:30AM ET, the ride had a 70-minute wait, and Disney was forecasting some fairly high wait times throughout the rest of the day. But we did see that drop to around 30 minutes at one point so be sure to watch the My Disney Experience app carefully and head over there when wait times drop.

Jingle Cruise!

Keep in mind you can also use Genie+ to skip the line at this attraction if you so choose.

So just what changes when the Jingle Cruise takes over? Well, for starters there are holiday decorations scattered throughout the ride and the queue. It all starts with the Jungle Cruise sign in front of the ride, which transforms into a “Jingle Cruise” sign to mark the season!

See the Decor?!

As you approach the ride, you’ll see the sign right next to the Lightning Lane and Standby Lane has also become a “Jingle Cruise” sign…

See the Holiday Lights?

…and there are holiday lights strung near the Lightning Lane sign next to it.

Lookin’ Festive!

You’ll typically find some decorative touches as you make your way through the queue (which, again, can get quite long!). For example, it looks like the crew is really going ALL IN on the turkey theme for their dinner menus. 😆

Not a Whole Lot of Selection Here

As you head closer to the ride, you’ll see that the boat names have been updated too, and now feature a winter theme! Anyone up to ride the Brrrrr Bertha?!

Brrrrr!

Throughout the ride you’ll find some holiday decorations scattered around, all of which have a VERY homemade skipper vibe to them — gotta love it! This one spot really went ALL OUT on the decor.

Someone Is Very Excited About the Holidays

And your skipper will likely throw in quite a few holiday jokes as you sail through the many rivers of the ride.

Uh Oh!

During our ride, we spotted presents floating about…

…some more gifts near our friends who seem to have gotten a bit stuck…

…and other details.

You’ll Want to Look Everywhere!

Keep an eye out for holiday decor throughout the entire space.

More Holiday Touches

If you’ve never seen this ride with its holiday overlay, it’s something we recommend checking out since it makes the experience a bit more unique and is only available for a limited time each year.
