Reservations Opening SOON For Akershus in Disney World

Although most things in Disney World have settled into a new version of “normal,” a few unknowns have remained.

Some restaurants have not reopened, the Disney Dining Plan has not returned, and a timeline for some new attractions has not yet been released. But things are changing now and we have BIG news about a popular EPCOT restaurant!

Over in the Norway Pavilion in EPCOT, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall has remained closed over the past few years. This restaurant was previously home to a Norwegian buffet along with Disney Princesses who visit with diners.

But FINALLY, Disney announced that Akershus will be reopening on November 4th, 2022, and reservations will open on October 24th! Reservations typically open sometime around 5:45AM ET, so make sure you set an alarm if you’re hoping to snag one of these reservations — they’re likely to go quickly.

You can start making reservations 60 days before your trip, so it’s not a bad idea to mark that date on your calendar.

Disney did confirm that the Princesses would return to the restaurant and that guests will be able to interact with them and take photos, but we will have to wait and see whether it will be modified in any way. Character dining has returned to normal at many other Disney World restaurants, including ‘Ohana, Crystal Palace, and more, yet other restaurants still have modified experiences, such as Cinderella’s Royal Table.
