Disney World projects can sometimes take a long time to be completed.

We’ve waited a long time for things like Space 220, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser. Another project that seems like it’s been in progress forever is TRON Lightcycle Run in Magic Kingdom. We’ve been giving construction updates on the coaster for years now, but we’re so excited to say that we FINALLY have an idea of when TRON will open in Disney World!
TRON will be opening in Spring 2023!

Can you believe that the coaster is actually going to open after all these years?! TRON was first announced back in 2017, so we’ve been waiting almost half a decade for this attraction.

TRON was supposed to open in 2021 for Disney World’s 50th anniversary, but construction was reportedly delayed due to the global pandemic.

If you don’t know, TRON is a coaster-style attraction that consists of a train made of two-wheeled Lightcycles. The original ride is in Shanghai Disneyland and is based off of the 1982 movie of the same name.

It’s located in a new area of Tomorrowland next to Space Mountain and Tomorrowland Speedway.

The high-speed ride will lead guests both indoors and outdoors, with a large canopy covering the outdoor section of the track.

Inside, the coaster will use imagery and LED lights among the twists and turns to bring guests through the high-tech world of TRON.

We are so excited to finally see TRON be completed, and go on the ride for the first time! Stay tuned to All Ears for more updates on the coaster and its opening.
