The Disneyland Resort is about to look VERY different, and changes are happening sooner than you think!

Disneyland is gearing up for its 70th anniversary as well as the early stages of its MASSIVE decade-long DisneylandForward expansion project — so it’s safe to say things at the Resort are about to look pretty different. In fact, here are some changes that are coming up pretty soon!
We’ve already brought up the 70th anniversary changes and there are PLENTY! The official celebration runs from May 16th, 2025 into the summer of 2026 and there are several things to see and do!

The whole resort will be decked out in special theming — including Sleeping Beauty Castle — as it offers special merch and 70th Anniversary-inspired snacks. Keep an ear out for a fun tune from the Jonas Brothers, too!

There will also be plenty of new and returning entertainment options coming to the parks, such as the “Paint the Night” nighttime parade coming back to Disneyland and a new version of “World of Color” debuting at Disney’s California Adventure.

We’re also getting some ride changes! On May 16th, as the Resort begins to celebrate its 70th anniversary, Toy Story Midway Mania! is including some 70th Anniversary-themed targets in the ride experience!

This will come just after “it’s a small world” reopens with a new scene that features Dante and Miguel from Pixar’s Coco on May 13th. Later in the year on July 17th — the official birthday of Disneyland — “it’s a small world” will also feature a new verse in the ride song from the late Richard M. Sherman — who composed the original song.

Also on the 17th, Disneyland will FINALLY open Walt Disney — A Magical Life! Premiering at Main Street Opera House, this show will rotate in the theater with Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln and will feature the first-ever audio-animatronic of Walt Disney himself.

Over at the Disneyland Hotel, a new concierge lounge is opening this summer! The High Key Club will celebrate “the music and sounds of Disneyland park circa 1955,” and is described by Disney as “swanky and sophisticated, colorful and fun.”
The lounge will offer a “custom soundtrack showcasing the sounds and songs of the park.” It will also feature some artifacts.

The High Key Club will take over the space of the previous club-level lounge in Adventure Tower and double its size while offering cocierge-level guests views of the Disneyland fireworks.

Finally, construction on the building that formerly housed Downtown Disney’s ESPN Zone has been moving along quickly.

Current work is being done to install a new Lululemon store, and we’ll keep you posted on this project as more updates are revealed!
