It’s almost the start of the Disneyland 70th Anniversary Celebration, and yes, we’re screaming it from the rooftops because we are so excited. From new snacks, ride updates, and the return of a favorite parade, we’re ready to put on our party hats and join Mickey and his friends to celebrate this tremendous achievement.

Disney just gave us a sneak peek of the Paint the Night parade, and it’s even better than we could have imagined.
If you’re heading to Disneyland anytime between May 16th and the end of summer 2026, you’ll want to make sure you plan on seeing the Paint the Night parade. It initially debuted at Disneyland in 2015 in honor of the 60th anniversary, the Diamond Celebration.

It ran until 2016, when Disney started using it as seasonal offerings or limited-time showings. Now, it’s coming back for the 70th anniversary, with Anna and Elsa returning to the parade for the first time since its initial run.

Look at the new Tinker Bell outfit! Disney says she “paints rainbows resplendent with pinches of pixie dust.”

This was her original costume in 2018. The new one has different swirls, pointer wings, and different lighting in the hair.

Other friends like Ariel, Belle, Buzz and Woody, Mike and Sulley, Peter Pan, and Rapunzel will be part of the parade while a special rendition of the song “When Can I See You Again” by Owl City and other songs from Disney and Pixar with “a nod to the original Main Street Electrical Padade.”

If you want the ultimate Paint the Night experience, the Plaza Inn offers the Paint the Night Dining Package. This package includes a multi-course, all-in-one meal and reserved viewing for the parade.

The parade starts on May 16th to kick off the Disneyland 70th Anniversary, which is a perfect excuse to plan a trip to Disneyland.
