Pirate Rooms May CLOSE at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort

Staying at a Disney World hotel in 2023 is going to be very different!

With multiple resorts getting updates, the addition of Hey Disney! sometime this year, and more restaurants reopening, staying onsite at Disney World will be a very different experience than we get currently. And today, we learned about another big hotel change!

When chatting with a Cast Member on Disney World’s website today, we learned that the Pirate Rooms will be unavailable at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort after 2022! Disney hasn’t made any official announcements about this change, but the Cast Member confirmed that the rooms would not be available in 2023.

At this time, the rooms are still available through the end of this year. Since 2023 bookings opened up yesterday, this could be important information if you’re planning to stay at Caribbean Beach.

These rooms, along with the princess-themed rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort, were one of the more unique hotel room offerings you could find in Disney World. We’ll be interested to see if they’re redone and brought back, or if they’re gone for good.

Over the past few years, Disney has made some major upgrades to the Value Resorts and Deluxe Resorts, so it’s possible the Moderate Resorts are next. Many of the rooms at these hotels are a bit out-of-date, and we’d heard complaints from guests who’d stayed in the Pirate Rooms in the past that the beds were incredibly uncomfortable. Hopefully, this announcement means that we’ll be getting some upgrades to those old rooms, whether pirate-themed or otherwise.
