Have you ever thrown a coin into Cinderella’s Wishing Well in Magic Kingdom?

Tossing a coin into Cinderella’s Wishing Well — or any of the other fountains in Disney World — is a popular activity among guests. Many consider it to be a trip staple, much like grabbing a churro or taking a ride on a favorite attraction. Well, if you’ve ever dropped a coin into one of Disney World’s fountains, you’ve probably helped make a wish actually come true without even knowing it!
Disney World’s Ambassadors took to Instagram to share about how Disney periodically collects and donates the coins in the fountains and waterways in the park. Because of the coins guests have dropped into Cinderella’s Wishing Well (and other bodies of water around Disney World), Disney was able to donate $30,000 to Give Kids The World Village.
Give Kids The World Village was established back in 1986 and helps grant wishes by providing Make-A-Wish families with a place to stay and create priceless memories.
Give Kids The World provides ill children and their families with free, week-long trips. They have granted thousands of wishes, and held events in the past to help with granting future wishes.

Pam Landwirth, the President and CEO of Give Kids the World Village, shared “We’ve had an amazing relationship with Walt Disney World Resort for more than 35 years, and this donation on top of the recent $500,000 grant will help us to continue making dreams come true for our very special wish families who visit the Village.”

This donation from Disney marks just one of many made by the Company in honor of the 50th Anniversary. They actually kicked off the 50th celebrations with $3 in grants to local nonprofit organizations, including Give Kids the World.
So keep tossing those coins and making those personal wishes — you may just be helping make someone else’s dream come true!
