Is This Snack Spot Opening Soon in Disney's Animal Kingdom?

We’ve been seeing a lot of restaurants reopening in Disney’s Animal Kingdom lately.

Eight Spoon Cafe

The Eight Spoon Cafe recently reopened, as did Dino Diner and Tusker House. Today we spotted another potential reopening coming soon, and the menu is surprising!

The Smiling Crocodile is a seasonal snack stand in Discovery Island in Animal Kingdom that as of recently has remained closed. Their menu frequently changes and often features unique snack items.

We noticed today that the Smiling Crocodile is now showing a new menu and hours! Though it is still officially labeled as “temporarily unavailable,” the Smiling Crocodile is showing hours between 11AM to 2PM as of July 11th, 2021.

The new menu appears to feature three variations of pulled pork street tacos for $9.99 and chips and salsa for $4.99. On their previous menu, The Smiling Crocodile served a pulled pork-stuffed jelly doughnut with coleslaw. Given that the Eight Spoon Cafe is now serving a pulled pork jelly doughnut sandwich, perhaps the Smiling Crocodile will now focus on street tacos.

There is also a new drink called the Island Sunrise, which is made with Jose Cuervo Tequila, pineapple-orange guava juice, and a hit of watermelon.
