How Does the Price for Disney’s BOO Bash Compare to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party?

Now that we’ve made it to summer time, we’re already looking ahead to Halloween!

Halloween Time in Disney World

Disney has already started announcing all the details on the new upcoming version of their annual Halloween Party as the BOO Bash arrives in Disney World this year! Since Disney will still be following health and safety protocols, there will be some key differences between its previous Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and the BOO Bash. While some of these changes will include the entertainment, length of the party, and more, the price tag for the updated event is a LOT steeper than you might expect.

As Disney World continues to make modifications to its offerings at this time, one of the biggest changes comes to the offerings available in the parks. And, even though the BOO Bash has references to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, it will not be the same event that lasts all night long. Instead, the BOO Bash will run from 9PM until midnight (with ticketed guests able to access the Magic Kingdom as early as 7PM).

Previously, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party would run from 7PM to midnight. Yet, Disney’s ticket prices for the BOO Bash are even MORE expensive for less available hours than its predecessor. A ticket to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party would start at $79 in advance for adults and $74 in advance for children. While they would also be a bit pricier towards Halloween, they would usually reach a peak on October 31st at $135 for adults and $130 for children.

Boo to You

That high point for the Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is around the actual STARTING costs for the BOO Bash. The tickets for Boo Bach cost in between $129 to $199 per person (including children) depending on the date that guests visit. There are some discounts as Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members can receive $10 off their tickets for Boo Bash dates in August and September.

If you compare the price tags of the busiest event nights on Halloween, Disney is upcharging another $70 for two hours less of the party, which will already be receiving major modifications from previous years. Although we do have details about entertainment and treats that will be coming to the BOO Bash, you might want to consider whether the pricing and hours are worth the visit for your group.

  1. But…. it’s not the same thing?! It’s an After Hours party. Your comparing apples and oranges.

The After Hours parties pre-covid were around this price, for exactly the same sort of thing?!? Last year before everything got cancelled they had MNSSHP and After Hours running at the same time!

You are getting unlimited free selected snacks and drinks throughout the whole thing included in your ticket price (on top of the trick or treat candy.)

And limited capacity means you get much shorter wait times for nearly all the rides! I don’t get how this is a comparison?! You’re literally paying for a more exclusive time.

Yes it’s more expensive, but it’s not for the same thing.

The whole reason they’re doing after hours is because it would be too crowded with the Not Scary party!

  2. Definitely will not go due to the ticket prices and limited hours. They also need to decide if when they have the special events if its fair to have regular guests have the ability to still wait in line for rides when the special event is going on. It makes for very long wait times that a special ticket holder is paying the right for the times listed on the tickets for the event.

  3. I’ve heard from others the price increase is due to this being an After Hours event, this is similarly priced to those events – and as such they will limit the number of tickets to more like 5000 tickets similar to an After Hours event instead of the 20,000 tickets they used to sell for MNSSHP – that justifies the price increase in my opinion if it is true.

  4. Well I was looking at it and had already decided not to go as the dates it was offered during our trip would not fit into the park pass schedule we planned as one of the days is our anniversary(spending it in Epcot) and the other two are our arrival and departure dates. 🙁
Definitely not going to now that I know about the price increase.

  6. I went to the Halloween Party in 2019 before Covid (and in a previous year). I was disappointed in it because they seemed to close more of the rides to hand out the Halloween candy. My purpose in going to the Party was to ride the rides without the long lines. Going home with a bag of candy (which is good candy and a lot of it) did not make up for not being able to ride the rides.
