Disney announced last year that it would be updating the classic Jungle Cruise in both Magic Kingdom and Disneyland to remove some “outdated cultural depictions.”
We just found out when the ride’s makeover will be complete, and we’re so excited because it will be finished this summer in both parks! Magic Kingdom’s Jungle Cruise has stayed open as updated get added to the ride, and today we noticed a new one!
The Jungle Cruise has a new building behind some netting near the end of the ride!
This will be the new Trader Sam’s Gift Shop scene that we’ve previously seen concept art for.
If you’ve been following along with the renovations, you’ll know that they removed the Trader Sam animatronic from the ride back in April.
He was located at the end of the ride and for almost two months, there was just a blank space where he once stood.
The gift shop scene is now being added to that space, and we’re excited to see the new shop completed!
It’s great to see the progress Disney has been making on both Jungle Cruise Rides, and we can’t wait for them to be finished. We’ll continue to check in on the ride to see what’s new and keep you updated on this huge makeover!
