If you’ve been following along with ride news at the Disney parks, then you probably know that the classic Jungle Cruise is getting some updates at Magic Kingdom and Disneyland.
The fan-favorite attraction is getting a new storyline throughout, and Disney is taking the time to remove some “outdated cultural depictions.” When the makeover is complete, the ride will keep the humor that guests love, and the story will be much more cohesive. If you’re eager to jump on this refurbished ride, then good news — we now know when it will be complete!
At Disneyland Park, the ride remains closed while the work is completed. Disney shared today that it will reopen to the public on July 16th, 2021. We also got some photos of the latest progress, including the installation of the new Trader Sam’s Gift Shop scene.
Over at Disney World, the updates will continue to happen while the ride remains operational. You may notice some differences during your expedition, but we can expect the updates to be completed this summer.
We can’t wait to see the fully updated ride in person, and we’ll make sure to let you know as soon as it’s complete. For now, check out this video that Disney shared of a trip on the “world-famous” Jungle Cruise:
