PHOTOS: Are Disney World's NEW Face Masks Actually Worth $15?

Since its reopening, Walt Disney World has required that all guests wear face masks when visiting the resort area and parks.

And, while we’ve always had Mickey Ears as a trendy Disney park accessory, face masks have become the newest way to add a Disney flair to your outfit. You can pick up masks that feature your favorite characters, celebrate EPCOT festivals, and there are even some basic ones to match almost any outfit. And, while we were at Disney World today, we noticed that something was a little different about Disney’s newest face masks.

Today in Magic Kingdom, we stopped into The Emporium and spotted a brand new face mask! And, the design wasn’t the only thing new on these. They were also in new packaging!

The packaging itself is still plastic but feels much sturdier than what we’re used to seeing the masks come in. To give you a good idea of the comparison, we decided to get ourselves a Captain America mask — here’s how the packaging differs… .

Once we took it out of the bag, we immediately noticed that the new mask has an extra seam down the middle, and, unlike other Disney masks, this one has a nose wire to help you get a more snug fit.

We wanted to see how the size of the mask compared to the others, so we stacked the Captain America mask on top. And, these new ones are definitely a bit bigger!

Now for the real test — what is it like wearing the new mask? Well, the fabric is thicker than the masks we usually wear to the parks, but it seemed to fit more snug around our face and was pretty comfortable. So, it might be a good option to add to your park rotation!

If you’re not a big fan of the blue Mickey pattern, the new mask also comes in another design too. We spotted both designs at The Emporium and at Discover Trading Co. in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
