Occasionally, Disney World will shutter some of its rides or resorts for refurbishment.

And if you’re traveling to Disney World soon, you’ll want to stay updated on the closures! So we’re bringing you a refurbishment update on all the attractions that will be unavailable from April 5th through April 11th, 2021.
Magic Kingdom Refurbishments
Walt Disney World Railroad
Let’s kick things off with a record-setting closure! The Walt Disney World Railroad has been unavailable for over 2 years, while construction on TRON: Lightcycle Run blocks the tracks.

Since Disney hasn’t announced when TRON will open, we’re not sure when the railroad will reopen, either. But since TRON construction was reportedly delayed, it could be a while!

Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover
PeopleMover fans got some pretty disappointing news this week! The ride has been closed since March 2020, but it was finally expected to reopen last week. Unfortunately, the closure was extended yet again.

The reopening has been rescheduled multiple times, so this isn’t too much of a shock! But boy do we miss the PeopleMover. It’s now due to reopen on May 1st, 2021!
Here’s What We Know About the PeopleMover!
The Hall of Presidents
The Hall of Presidents closes for refurbishment each time a new president is elected, to add a new audio-animatronic. Currently, President Joe Biden is being installed!

Disney hasn’t yet announced a reopening date, but we’ll keep you posted when they do!

Main Street Confectionery
Last week, the Main Street Confectionery closed for a lengthy refurb. Luckily, if you’re in the mood for cupcakes and fudge, all of its sweet treats were temporarily moved to Main Street Cinema!

Right now, the Confectionery is listed as closed through June 12th — but it could be even longer! Disney hasn’t released its refurbishment schedule past then, so we’ll have to wait and see. We’ll keep you posted!

Disney World Resort Refurbishments
Over at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, we’re seeing a lot of construction! Changes are being made to the entryway, lobby, monorail station, and guest rooms. Those guest rooms are getting a Moana makeover, and they’re taking reservations starting this July! All the other updates should wrap up this summer, too.

Well, that’s a wrap on this week’s refurbishment update! As always, stay tuned to AllEars for more Disney news.
