Jungle Cruise’s Update Just Got WAY More Interesting in Disney World

Have you been to see the backside of water on Jungle Cruise in Disney’s Magic Kingdom or Disneyland?

While the backside of water will always look the same, there are quite a few changes coming to this iconic Disney ride! But, don’t worry though, the ride isn’t getting any less funny. Instead, Disney is piling on even MORE bad puns and dad jokes. Plus, even the backstory for Jungle Cruise is getting a little thicker!

Meet Alberta Falls! She’s the granddaughter of Dr. Albert Falls who is well known as the proprietor of the Jungle Navigation Company Ltd. Die-hard Jungle Cruise explorers will recognize her from her abstract portrait in the lobby of Skipper Canteen, but we’re getting a real look at her now!

Alberta is pretty well known in the Jungle Cruise World and you can read all about her in her feature in the 1938 issue of The Daily Gnus. Of course, this was recently discovered by the Disney team — how lucky!

She is the first new character to be introduced to the attraction and there are a lot more new things to come! Disney shared that there will be new scenes added to the ride, such as a trapped safari party. So, your journey down the Nile River is about to get a lot more interesting!
