Typically, when attractions or restaurants in Disney World shut down for refurbishment, we can often expect them to stay closed for a while (we’re looking at you, PeopleMover).
After temporarily closing in mid-January for refurbishment, Liberty Square Market has reopened in Magic Kingdom, slightly earlier than expected!
After the holidays, Disney World enters a couple of months of lighter season operations, which means things get quieter and some places may even close for a bit.
Since the crowds are relatively light, it’s an optimal time for Disney to implement any operational updates they’ve been putting off until after the holidays, which is precisely the case with Liberty Square Market.
The snack stand by the Hall of Presidents (which incidentally is also closed for refurbishments) shut down on January 11, and Disney shared a message saying it was expected to reopen sometime in February 2021.
Well if you’ve been craving turkey legs, we’ve got good news, because Liberty Square Market has reopened!
According to Disney’s website, the expected hours at Liberty Square Market are 10:30 AM to 6 PM. So the next time you’re feeling like a healthy snack (or a dinosaur-sized Turkey Leg), you know where to go!

Turkey legs are my “go to” Disney snack at the Magic Kingdom. Only one per trip, though, as they are loaded with sodium. I remember one trip when we were staying on Hotel Plaza Blvd, took foil wrap with us and bought two legs to take back to the hotel. All was well until we settled on the buss and filled the entire space with the smell. Very embarrassing! After over 20 Disney trips and now not healthy enough to travel, I crave a turkey leg as much as anything.
