NEWS: The Monorail Station at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Has Temporarily Closed

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is undergoing some major refurbishments this year!

The resort will feature a new entryway with lobby enhancements. Additionally, the guest rooms are getting a big Moana-inspired makeover. The refurb is already underway and affecting some of the amenities and transportation.

It was announced that the monorail service to the Polynesian would be temporarily suspended at this resort. As of today, November 2nd, the monorail station is now closed.

Guests wishing to transfer to and from the Polynesian will either need to access a Disney bus, take a ride share service like Lyft, Uber, or taxi, or drive to the resort. Disney will also add boat transportation between the Polynesian and Magic Kingdom for additional transfer options, however as of this writing, the boat transportation has yet to become available.

The hotel is closed for standard reservations but is remaining open for guests staying in the DVC rooms and visitors who wish to shop and dine at the resort. As of now, the partial closure is set to last until summer 2021.
