Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is set to undergo major refurbishments this year.
Disney delayed reopening the hotel to non-DVC guests in order to reimagine the entryway and lobby. They will also give the guest rooms a new Moana-inspired theme. We just got our first look at the construction around the Polynesian’s property!
Construction signs were placed throughout the resort. This includes the main front entrance automatic doors where the health and sanitation guidelines were installed…
…and outside at the back entrance. A-frame boards direct guests around potential construction blocks to main areas. The signs point to the Great Ceremonial House, Disney busses, and the walkway to the Transportation and Ticket Center.
Some areas have been prepped with temporary walls that mask the work being done in the guest rooms.
As of now, the resort is set to reopen sometime in 2021. We’ll continue to check back to see if the construction affects guests visiting the hotel or monorail transportation.
