Ahh, Magic Kingdom, is there anything better than Walt Disney World’s flagship park? We don’t think so!
One of the best parts of Magic Kingdom are the iconic dark ride attractions to be found in the park. From “it’s a small world” to Haunted Mansion, we love to love them all. Plus, some specific scenes on these rides have a special place in our hearts!
So, without further ado, here’s the best scene in every Magic Kingdom dark ride!
Pirates of the Caribbean
The very best scene in Pirates of the Caribbean is the first big town scene! In this room, you can see Jack Sparrow hiding from those looking for him as pirates pillage and plunder all around.
Of course, we love all of the scenes on Pirates of the Caribbean, but the big town scenes are the coolest. There’s so much to look at, and the level of detail is astonishing!

Splash Mountain
Next up, Splash Mountain has a bunch of heartwarming scenes, but our favorite doesn’t have us singing “Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah.” In fact, it has us singing a different song — “The Laughing Place!”
We love the humor of the Laughing Place scene on Splash Mountain, and all the beehives are certainly a sight to see. Plus, it comes right before that big drop!

Haunted Mansion
Haunted Mansion is another ride that’s hard to pick a favorite from. We were thinking that maybe the graveyard scene was best, or perhaps hitchhiking ghosts. In the end, though, we settled in the ballroom scene!
Even though the ballroom scene doesn’t have any super catchy songs, it is quite the sight to see! The use of pepper’s ghost makes it look like a whole party of dancing specters are below you, and it wows us every time.

“it’s a small world!”
Now we’re headed over to Fantasyland, the location of the bulk of Magic Kingdom dark rides! We love all the scenes in “it’s a small world!” but the best has to come in the finale!
Seeing all the dolls that represent the nations of the world together on that gorgeous ship is such a joyful experience. Plus, we can’t get enough of that Mary Blair design.
Peter Pan’s Flight
Peter Pan’s Flight is a favorite for many, as supported by its consistently lengthy lines. One scene that sticks out for all of us? It’s that initial flight over London!
It’s still just as magical as it was when Imagineers first came up with it. When you’re pirate ship soars through the London sky, you can’t help but feel like you’re actually flying!
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Almost as lovable is The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, just down the way. We love the story of the blustery day but our favorite scene on this ride is definitely the Heffalumps and Woozles scene!
Although this scene can honestly be a little scary (even for us, and we’re adults!), we love the colors and the wacky characters!

Under the Sea — Journey of the Little Mermaid
The last of the Fantasyland rides that we’re looking at is also the newest. We’re popping over to Under the Sea — Journey of the Little Mermaid to look at the Ursula scene!
This scene isn’t even all that interesting, but the Ursula animatronic is actually the coolest! All those scary tentacles and that dramatic face really give us the creeps in real life!

Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin
And ending up over in Tomorrowland, we’re taking a spin (literally) on Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin. The winner on this ride is the final scene with Zurg! This ride is a game, so of course, we love the boss fight the best!
Plus, Zurg’s space ship is super cool. We wish we were scary space robots so we could also have a scary space ship.

What’s your favorite scene in the Magic Kingdom dark rides? Tell us in the comments!
Haunted Mansion, it is about impossible to pick a scene!! Love the Ballroom, but what about the seance? Or the attic with Constance?
Years ago on a trip with the whole family, my granddaughter yelled “ I can’t believe I finally get to see London in person” when we went on Peter Pan’s flight. It was a perfect moment.
