Five Benefits of Staying at a Disney Skyliner Resort

Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Riviera Resort and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort all share one awesome thing in common — the Disney Skyliner.

In addition to the Disney Skyliner, there are many other benefits of staying in one of the Disney Skyliner Resorts.

Today, we are sharing our top five benefits of staying in a Disney Skyliner Resort!

Transportation to  EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios

The most obvious reason to stay at a Skyliner Resort? The Disney Skyliner Resort hotels offer quick-and-easy transportation to both EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Disney Skyliner Destinations from EPCOT

Unlike the bus system, which can occasionally have you waiting upwards of 15 minutes for a bus, the continuous loading system of the Disney Skyliner makes it convenient to travel to both parks — with little to no waits! Even when we’ve seen longer lines at the Skyliner stations, we haven’t waited more than a few minutes to board a gondola. Plus each leg of the Skyliner journey is under ten minutes long (Riviera to EPCOT is the longest leg at 9-10 minutes).

Disney Bus

If the Disney Skyliner is down, you can depend on Disney’s typically reliable bus transportation system to use instead. We love Disney Resort hotels with multiple transportation options!

Multiple Dining Options

Another awesome benefit of staying in a Disney Skyliner Resort is the direct access to multiple dining venues.

Guests can enjoy dining in Value, Moderate and even Deluxe Villa Resorts — all accessible via a short flight on the Disney Skyliner.

From convenient food courts to character dining experiences, there are options for guests with all budgets, schedules and culinary tastes! One of our new favorites, Topolino’s Terrace, offers both a character dining experience for breakfast and a fine/signature dining experience at dinner — both boasting spectacular views of EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

Access to International Gateway

The Disney Skyliner Resort hotels all offer transportation via the Skyliner to the International Gateway in EPCOT. This is a huge perk for guests who are traveling to EPCOT to visit World Showcase and are not interested in visiting the front of the park.

EPCOT International Gateway Entrance

Many Guests who are looking to visit EPCOT during the International Food and Wine Festival (or one of the many other EPCOT festivals that take place World Showcase) will find this direct access to the International Gateway to be an awesome benefit of being a Disney Skyliner Resort hotel Guest.

This route also offers great views of some “backstage magic” in EPCOT. For example, guests were able to see the progress at Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in the France pavilion almost from the ground up!

Access to Recreation and Entertainment at other Resort hotels

A quick ride on the Disney Skyliner opens up a world of recreational and entertainment options at Resorts within walking distance of the Skyliner.

Skyliner Hub at Caribbean Beach Resort

Soar over to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort for a beach campfire, movie under the stars, or Pirate Adventure Cruise!

Guests can also find biking rentals, jogging trails, fishing, and arcades. However, the fun doesn’t end there! Guests who travel via Skyliner to the EPCOT station are a short walk from Disney’s BoardWalk with access to restaurants, live performers, bars, and a nightclub.

Jellyrolls

Some of our favorite nighttime entertainment venues, such as Jelly Rolls and Atlantic Dance Hall are located on Disney’s BoardWalk. Surrey Bikes, which offer the perfect family activity, can be rented on the BoardWalk. There is fun to be had by Guests of all ages!

Plus, you can easily access Disney’s Beach Club and Yacht Club and the Swan and Dolphin hotels, too. That’s a ton of dining at your fingertips when you hit the skies.

The Views

We touched a bit on spectacular views earlier, but most of them are unparalleled to the view offered by the Disney Skyliner. Guests staying in a Disney Skyliner Resort hotel will be able to enjoy new vantage points over Walt Disney World that they would otherwise never be able to enjoy!

One of our favorite views aboard the Disney Skyliner is that of Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. We love seeing the water, the colorful buildings, and all of the greenery that abounds in this lovely Resort hotel.

Disney Skyliner Views

Flying into International Gateway offers amazing views of Spaceship Earth, the France pavilion, and the many waterways surrounding EPCOT. We would be happy to hop aboard the Disney Skyliner for the views alone!

  1. We will always and forever stay at Skyliner resorts. We love being in the monorail line too, but can’t afford it. Skyliner is amazing.

  2. Is there a way to find out if the skyliner is not running without actually slbeong able to see it? I can’t find it anywhere it the app at all.

  3. We are heading to DW Aug 17-24 2021 & staying at Pop Century Resort. The last time we stayed at Pop Century was Dec 2006. Although I’ve been to DW every couple of years since 2006, I am excited to be staying on Disney property & looking forward to riding the Skyliner!

  4. We have been staying at the Pop Century for years. Now that the Skyliner is actually working, I just paid $212, $180 and $170 for six nights for October 2020. Last year I paid $130. That does not include tax. Caribbean Beach was $300 without tax and Riviera was coming out at $585 plus tax per night. Is it me or are these prices ridiculous! The food isn’t any better at Pop Century and it’s still a Value Resort, plus now they are cutting bus service to EPCOT and DHS because of the Skyliner convenience. If I’m paying $585.00 plus tax per night, I am booking the Grand Floridan or Contemporary!

    1. We are not skyliner fans. I have no desire to be trapped in a gondola for an indeterminate amount of time. I keep wishing I didn’t feel so distrustful of it, because now I won’t book any of the skyliner resorts. And yes, the raise in prices at the associated resorts is not good either.

  5. We stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort last month. We chose it because of the Skyliner. It did not disappoint! Time travel to Epcot and Hollywood Studios was amazing compared to busses or even monorail. The Skyliner is fast, smooth and offers beautiful views. Here’s something else- many fun conversations were experienced while riding! Ask someone where they are from and talking ensues. One guy visited every Disney Park in the world. We loved hearing his stories. How I miss those brief encounters with strangers! They are really fun! Some people were sharing their phone photos with me after ten minutes! So fun! We Love Disney, and thank you for the Skyliner! It’s like an attraction
