Epcot Construction Update: Test Track, Regal Eagle, and the Epcot Experience Seating! [1/23/2020]

Epcot seems to be undergoing automotive adjustments this week, with changes to Test Track and the Parking Trams.

Don’t you just hate it when the road is closed?

Plus, we’ve got some incremental updates to the Epcot Experience, construction at Regal Eagle Smokehouse, and MORE WALLS!

Test Track Undergoes Some Road Work

Test Track is down for its regular refurbishment, meaning the only thrill rides currently at the park are Mission: SPACE and trying not to throw up after riding Mission: SPACE.

Work seems to be focusing on the entrance area at the moment, with grey walls popping up around the FastPass touch point, test vehicle, and outside theming. Nearby, work is still ongoing for the upcoming Space 220 restaurant as well!

Several adjacent areas are blocked off as well.

Refurbishment is currently scheduled to last through February 26th.

Tram-sitions at the Entrance

Epcot’s entrance is still being updated, which means more funneling past Spaceship Earth, and more re-located tram service.

Tram Service at Epcot

Construction on the new tram stop is still underway, with guests still having to walk a distance from the current drop point to reach the park entrance. Inside the park proper, we’ve caught sight of some exciting new adjustments!

Flowers!

The promised greenery seen in concept photos for the new Epcot entrance seems to be taking form as construction continues behind the walls.

The fountain is also taking shape.

Meanwhile, the walls behind Spaceship Earth have been given a cheerful overlay, with various colors and characters adorning them.

Character Walls

With so many walls around the park right now, we certainly see what Disney added in a few cheerful pops of color and magical charm!

A Salute to All Cookouts — But Mostly Barbecue

One step closer to BBQ and Sam the Eagle!

Construction on the Regal Eagle is coming along nicely, and we’re hoping it won’t be too much longer now until we can get our BBQ fix in!

Experience the Furniture of Epcot

Finally, the Epcot Experience has swapped out some photo spots for chairs.

Photo sets are still present, but now there is ample seating around the pavilion.

This will give guests a chance to relax while viewing the new Imagineering exhibit and enjoy the new food from the upcoming Eats at the Epcot Experience!

Loose chairs were also added for guests looking to rest their feet.

That’s it for this weekly Epcot Construction update! Stay tuned for more news about the evolution of one of our favorite Disney parks!
