NEW Closure Announced for Disney’s BoardWalk Inn

Yes, there is really MORE construction being added to Disney World’s agenda, and no, we’re not kidding.

From newly constructed lands to refurbished attractions to transportation changes, it seems like change in Disney World is never-ending. Even outside of its theme parks, Disney is doing some remodeling, focusing on some of its hotels for room updates and exterior refurbishment, and the BoardWalk Inn is one that is taking a hit.

Disney has announced that the BoardWalk Inn will undergo refurbishment in some areas now through late 2026. Most resort amenities, including dining, recreation, and merchandise locations, will still be available for guests. However, guests may still see or hear work during the day.

Also, as part of this construction, the Village Green courtyard will be closed from August 10th through September 4th. The recreation activities typically offered here, including Movie Under the Stars, yoga, and crafts, will be relocated to other locations around the resort.

And while we already knew about this, it’s still important to note — beginning in early 2027, the resort’s pool will undergo a months-long refurbishment. From January 11th through April 2027, the Luna Park Pool, the Luna Park Crazy Play Area, and Leaping Horse Libations will be closed for routine maintenance. The Villas Pool and the Inn Pool will remain open during this time. Again, guests may see and hear work taking place in the area during the day.

This is not the only construction ongoing at the BoardWalk right now, as a new quick-service restaurant, a new lounge, and a new store are currently under construction near the far-right end of the BoardWalk near the Atlantic Dance Hall.

Disney has yet to reveal any details about the quick-service restaurant, but we do have details on the other two! The new lounge will be called Hurly-Burly! It will be open to all guests during the day with family-friendly activities, while it will turn into a 21+ only spot at night with music, light bites, and cocktails. While Disney has not announced the specific location of this lounge, we can guess it will be located in the old Jellyrolls building based on the concept art and size.

The new store coming to the BoardWalk is dubbed ‘Basin on the BoardWalk.’ This sensory shopping experience will offer a curated collection of handcrafted products made with quality ingredients, including natural soaps, botanical bath salts, bath bombs, body butters, lip salves, shampoo and conditioner bars, and more. There will also be personalized experiences, including a custom bath tea blending counter, a make-your-own-soap station, and a soap embossing press for a personalized finishing touch.

While construction continues at the BoardWalk Inn through mid-2027, these new offerings are slated to open late 2026. Stay tuned to AllEars for more Disney news and updates!
