I'll say it: I don't get the hype. Yes, it's iconic - it's practically the mascot ride of Magic Kingdom - but the source material is ancient, and the ride itself is about as basic as attractions get. It'll make you smile, sure. You might even enjoy it. But love it? No.
That said, credit where it's due: the queue is one of the better ones on property, with an indoor playground that lets kids burn off energy while waiting. As a (mostly) solo rider, I usually breeze straight through without a second thought, but families with younger kids will likely get real value out of that space — it might be the actual highlight for some.
Pros:
Genuinely well-designed queue with a playground for waiting families Iconic, recognizable Disney attraction Gentle enough for all ages, no thrill anxietyCons:

Classic Disney - 100% a must for our family every trip. The indoor play area to use while waiting to ride is great for kiddos. The ride itself is great for all ages!
Pros:
Classic, fun for all ages, usually shorter waits, amazing indoor play area.Cons:

a must do, especially if youve never done it before and even more especially if your child has never done it before. the ride is iconic and nostalgic and fun for everyone. although, if you visit the parks often, if may not be something youd wanna go out of your way for.
Pros:
nostalgic, family friendly, fun queueCons:
sometimes has a long waitReviewed by DisneyGirlMelissa Review Date: 02/18/2024

Another classic! I wouldn't wait in a long line, but we got on it during an after hours event. After 3 times in a row (they did say we could keep going) we decided we needed to use our time to get other rides in too! lol!
Pros:
nostalgicCons:
during the day, typically has a long lineReviewed by Anonymous Review Date: 07/14/2023

Who doesn’t want to fly in a Dumbo elephant? Not me!!! The WDW version is awesome because if you’re standby, there’s a playhouse for kids that acts as a CIRCUS, and if you’re LL, well… everything goes fast anyway! I really recommend this, everyone has to try it!

Nostalgic and what you think of when you think of magic kingdom rides. Everyone should do it once but not really anything special. Great for the little kids and the wait system is great!

Parental attachment issues aside, this is a fun ride and a must-do for anyone's first trip to WDW. My daughter loved making Dumbo fly higher and lower throughout.
