St. Theodore adorns the top of this column in Epcot – specifically, in the World Showcase Italy pavilion. St. Theodore was the first Patron Saint of Venice. The other column has the Lion of St. Mark on top of it. In the real Venice, the inspiration for Epcot’s Italy, you’ll find both of these columns in the Piazza San Marco (St. Mark’s Square). Originally, three columns were meant to grace the square but the third fell into the sea and sank to the bottom of the lagoon when it was being unloaded.
