When we’re at Hollywood Studios, there’s nothing we love more than watching our favorite show about movie-making magic. Nothing beats an Epic Cold Brew Spectacular paired with a showing of Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular!

But Walt Disney Imagineering just filed a new permit that could put a wrench in our plans — Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular could look totally different soon!
Walt Disney Imagineering filed a new Notice of Commencement permit to install signage at the Indiana Jones Theater. Disney has partnered with frequent collaborator Kentavo for the new signage, which has installed signs at attractions “it’s a small world,” Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure.

Disney hasn’t yet announced if Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular will close for the installation. Most signs by Kentavo are built off-site and quickly installed overnight, so a closure is unlikely. But some Disney experts are convinced that the new signage could be part of a larger construction project.

Back in May, Disney Imagineering filed two construction permits for the area between the Indiana Jones theater and the Backlot Express restaurant. They’re under the codename Project Fedora, which we suspect is related to the fedora-wearing archaeologist himself!

Construction has just begun on the 202-square-foot space, which is outside the show’s exit. Given the probable Indy theme and the small space, we suspect that these permits could be for a new Indiana Jones merch kiosk or snack kiosk, while others suggest a children’s playground similar to The Boneyard in the former DinoLand. We’ll have to find out when the new project opens!

We’ll be sure to update you on all of these new Indiana Jones construction projects in Hollywood Studios. Stay tuned to Allears for more Disney World news!
